Best back-up running back (1 Viewer)

For those listing Betts over Turner, is that because you like the situation that Betts is in or you feel that he is the better talent? I was really asking about the players skill vs their specific situation.

1. Adrian Peterson (minn)

2. Maurice Jone-Drew

OK you could argue which one, but as of today they are backups, not members of RBBC

4. D'Angelo Williams

5. Ladell Betts

6. Micheal Turner

If Benson gets hurt, Adrian Peterson (CHI) has to be in this conversation. Especially the way that offense is geared around the run.

They like Betts better because he will be the starter this year and is a great value.

I assumed that to be the case, but when I posed the question my intention was best talent, not best value. Betts was a free agent this year and did not draw attention and ended up resigning with the Redskins. I expect Turner to gain tons of attention and not resign with the Chargers.Based on talent, is Betts the better back up or Turner? Let's put aside the fantasy aspect and focus on their ability vs opportunity.

best skill, Turnerbest opportunity to start, THIS SEASON?!BettsBetts is clearly in the best situation to start the season, and has the best opportunity to see significant playing time with Portis still sidelined..I get the feeling, Portis is not going to answer the call to start the season..and he might go on IR shortly thereafter..Turner looks good and all, but he won't get a shot to showcase his talents, unless/until LT gets hurt. There is also no guarantee the team doesn't franchise him NEXT season, keeping him in SD...

turner and betts are obvious imo

i like a. peterson in CHI as dark horse, i'm not sold on benson staying healthy

Kevin Jones.

He can be had later than some of the guys mentioned in this thread. The best thing might be if the team DOES put him on PUP and he comes back after 7 games or so. It is quite possible they would keep him out until their week 6 bye anyways.

I dont see Bell sustaining himself and/or not getting hurt. If you have your starters covered, Jones could be a nice upside guy for the second half.

I'd agree about Burner Turner and Betts, but my gut tells me that when this year is all said and done Adrian Peterson (CHI) will end up helping his owners the most.
