I finally found this game last week and was my first time playing and I scored 195 points. I thought I was gonna actually have a chance to win since I started Culpepper and Alexander and they were doing well but my WRs,TE,Kickers, and Cmart did me in. I revised my strategy and went with 2 mid $20 QBs and stacked my roster with hopefully some sure fire studs and some that I have hopes for this week. Anyways this game is fun as heck and I'm glad it's free and gives away some cool ### prizes. But just to make sure Best Buy ain't messing with us, have any FBG that wins a big prize post it here.

Well, I ended up with 243 total. Not bad - my best score of the year so far, but still 450th. The top score of 388 is almost unbelievable - so how do you Hack Best Buy? Anyways, I think my strategy is getting better, but I think you still need a little luck as well. I am 951st overall now - not too shabby but I wonder how many people are playing? I'm sure more people will play as the season progresses also.Mike

The 388 guy must have had C-pepp as his tag guy.... I did, and he got me 86 points! :D

I am actually an empoyee, so I am not eligible for the prizes... they have a separate employee-only contest... and I am glad to say third overall (gotta represent the FBG!)!!! The competition on our side isn't nearly as stiff (and "only" 6-7000 employees playing)... I have scored 1045 points so far. First place has 1128 on the employee side... I am closing in fast!

I have to say it is pretty cool working somewhere that 'sanctions' us playing football. They actually pay us too!... Top 10 every week get $250!!!! :excited:

Good luck to you guys that actually are playing for the big prizes! I am jealous...

Points last week: 202Points overall: 774Rank last week: 6807Rank overall: 18907 I had Culpepper as my x2 player for 86 points and still didn't come close.I would love to see the rosters on the top scoring teams.388 points is over 32 points a position! I just don't see how you can do this within the cap.

Check your week 4 points. Have the changed? My league's week 4 points have all changed. Looks like they are using week 5 stats for week 4 players............ Something's screwy. I sent them an email to see if there are problems w/ the scoring.

This contest is kicking my ***. Points last week: 182Points overall: 855Rank last week: 14979 :X Rank overall: 7373 :bag:

I'm curious, I either had a really good week, or it's just going to be a high scoring week like week 5 was...anyone around this area in total points?

QB1 Daunte Culpepper 43pts x2 = 86pts

QB2 Michael Vick 31pts

Throw in Donald Driver, Brandon Lloyd and Joe Horn (who were all on my list of 6-7 "possibilities"), and I've got a shot at a prize. Not a terrible week, but still disappointed in my WR's.

196 so far, I really missed the boat on my WR's.
Wow, that's a really good score  considering the output from your WR's :( Thanks for the response..I'm guessing some people picked the perfect rb's and wr's, and we'll see scores in the 270-300 range. Oh well, still fun to try for the prizes, especially for free :)

hmm - did very bad this week - I scored 116, my wife beat me with 146! Doesn't look like either one is good. We both had CBrown as tag player. Mike

I think I'm at 172 with Griese to go. I hit a touchdown with 2 out of 3 WRs, 2 out of 3 RBs, and my TE. And yet it just didn't add up to as much as I thought it would.

Did not total it yet, but in the Chris Brown tagged boat....250 is looking like a real good score to me...

I've got 194 with Isaac Bruce still to play.QBs = Daunte and VickRBs = CuMart (x 2), McGahee and Rudi J. (ugh)WRs = Bruce, Horn, J. SmithHere's where it gets ugly - got 0 from Erron Kinney (didn't know he was hurt) and the Lions D; 10 from Kaeding but only 2 from Scobee.

My strategy so far has been to get a $1/point ratio out of all my players. That way I can get 240 points before adjustments. Using that mindset, I think most QBs, TEs and PKs are way overrated. I basically go with the cheapest PK and TE who I think will get 40-50 yards. I think the strategy of going with Rod Smith, Jimmy Smith, Amani Toomer types that was mentioned earlier eventually pay off. They are usually in the $5-$10 range and any given week they could have the big 100 yard 1 TD game you need. As far as defenses go, I think you just have to get lucky with an fumble or INT recovery for a TD since they dont factor in points allowed. I've done pretty good with the tags so far.Week1: Alexander (good)Week2: Ahman (bad)Week3: Dom Davis (bad)Week4: Tiki Barber (good)Week5: Edge(good)Week6: C-Mart (good)Starting in week 4, I'd been using a spreadsheet I made in excel to predict matchups. It told me to double up on Barber and I wasn't liking it, but I was rewarded and it's been right every week for me so far.I'm doing okay in week 6, 189 points with Isaac Bruce to go. One of these days I'll get a huge score I hope. QB1: Trent Green 22 for $18QB2: Drew Brees 14 for $15RB1: C-Mart 33x2 for $40RB2: Pinner 2 for $17 (yuck)RB3: Droughns 27 for $24WR1: Ward 7 for $30 (got killed here... I took out Moss here at the last second to get Ward and some other crap).WR2: Horn 16 for $19WR3: Bruce for $18TE: LJ Smith 0 for $12PK1: Dawson 10 for $14PK2: Kaeding 10 for $14DEF: Redskins 15 for $19Droughns vs Cincy week 7 is looking like a good tag player. Maybe I'll start going with Bettis as my 3rd RB and hope he has a 2 TD game. Not sure what his price has been, but at this rate it's bound to pay off.

I used Culpepper this week and tagged him but the rest of my team is just okay.I think the rest were Brunell, Dillon, Staley, Thomas Jones, Randy Moss, Johnnie Morton, Moulds, Witten, Kaeding, Scobee, and the Rams defense.

Nice work Badger, 227 by my calcs.I was able to put up 227 as well this week after 257 last week. Making progress - Overall rank 2257 with 1087 pts, but starting off with 5 straight weeks of <200 will be tough to come back from. Guess I'll just be playing for a TV each week from here on out. :sigh:BTW, is it just me, or is the overall season prize extremely weak compared to the weekly prizes?

Any big scores out there this week? Someone here must have made Priest their tag player.I, unfortunately, did not, but still should post a respectable 210-215.

Calling Steve in Minneapolis! You said you were a best buy employee; can you get any inside info on the contest? To me, it seems a little fishy that the same guy finished #1 in week 6, and #3 in week 7. Also, this guys id is "barrysinthehall", while the #2 player in week 6 was "mikebarry." These two players are currently #25 and #17, respectively, overall, which seems like a strange coincidence to me. I'm normally not the "conspiracy theory" type, but this doesn't seem right to me. Out of (I'm guessing here) 50,000 contestants each week, this guy is in the top 3 two weeks in a row?I'm not sure how it could be done, but it seems like a fix to me.

As you know, the contest is being hosted by Fanball, so they have total control over the scoring and users, etc. I am not going to be able to shed much light on the controls they have in place. Our Events Marketing/Promotions team has plenty of history with these types of contests so they have a tight set of recruirements to prevent any sort of nonsense from happening.I have a meeting with two of the E.M. guys this week, and I will mention it and see if they want to look into this. Thanks for the heads up.S.I.M.:horns:

Thanks for the reply - if you figure out that someone has found a way to gain a "competitive advantage," please share with your FBG friends!

So anyone know how they are doing this week so far? From what I can tell I think I have 273 for this week so far. Culpepper killed me this week. Should of gone with Plummer.

That's huge man, you could be the 1st FBGer to get a weekly prize. As far as I can tell I got 167 for the week. I only hit Manning, Wayne, and Gonzalez and Portis killed my tag.

Judging from past scores, that should put you in the weekly prize mix.Congrats!I think I may have my lowest scoring week. I played TJones & FTaylor & they both got injured & out of their games early.

I've had some 200+ point games before, but the closest I've been to being in the prize realm was about 40 points away... This week I didn't do so well. Had Brees (good) and Leftwich (bad) as my QBs, Priest Holmes (x2), and Reggie Wayne. The rest were blah...

In week two, I finished one point out of a tie for tenth and thus a prize. This week I should have a big week.... Had Manning x2and I had Priest and a few others who had big weeks.I could be in the running for a prize.

Alot of guys had big games this week thats why I'm not so sure I will be in the running with my 273 pts. Like I said I killed myself with C-Pep this week, man if I would of went with almost any other QB I would of been close to the 300 mark.

As was posted, a lot of big scores, and I could have easily improved this with Brees (cost less than either of the QBs I had, any other TE, and I'm sure I couldv replaced Williams) So, 248 - not bad, but probably not prize winning this week unless I get REALLY lucky.Mike

I could be close - just did a quick score check for 275pts.Manning X 2HolmesGivensGonzalezWayneSome bums
