Best Cubs Story (1 Viewer)

Freshman year of college....Braves go to world series (i had lived there that year and spent a lot of time watching them go from worst to first in person....i lied to my theater director/professor in charge of the play i was in to get out of rehearsal with a lie about my step mom getting in a car wreck.  braves lose game, I get a gun to my head inside a shoneys later that night getting robbed pulp fiction style....karma is a bizzch.

June 5, 1985.

I faked sick so I could stay home from school.  I convinced my hypochondriac friend, who was already home sick, to pick me up at home.  Then I convinced him to take his dad's sports car without permission.  We then conspired to break my hot-as-balls girlfriend out of school as well.

The three of us headed to Wrigley to watch the Cubs play the Braves.  Alas, the Cubbies lost 4-2.   But I did catch a foul ball hit by Claudell Washington.
No way that's true. Unless you meant 1885.

Was hunting once. Skerred a mama and her offspring. She clawed me all over and my partner left me for dead. I crawled out, gettied up, and tracked him down. Got me a golden statue. Now I bang supermodels every night...

First ever baseball game was at Wrigley.  I was probably 6 or 7, went with my grampa.  Got to the game, had a hot dog and some Cracker Jack.  Day game, like 1980ish ... by the third inning I was ready to leave, while we were walking back from the bathroom I distinctly remember looking up at him saying "Grampa, I'm ready to go" and having him look down at me, snarl and grumble - likely profanely - under his breath and we do a 180 and head to the exit to go home.  :bag:

Same grampa (this time, with my Dad too), probably 2-3 years later, Cubs visiting Dodger Stadium.  I think I made it to the 8th inning or so.  We spent about an hour and a half walking the entire circumference of Dodger Stadium looking for our car.

My dad's now 8 months short of 80 years old.  I was happier for him more than anyone the other night when our Cubbies pulled it out.  I had faith.

We went to Chicago when I was a youngster with another family. The boy in that family and I really wanted to go to Old Comiskey Field to see the Sox play. Why my dad wasn't like, "son, I'm overruling you guys, we're going to Wrigley", I'll never understand. So I got to see the yellow and green paint (oddly my most vivid memory of the game, I should pull the ticket stub to when it was) and all the greatness of Old Comiskey. I've still never been to Wrigley for a baseball game or even PJ, same with my dad. Maybe the next time the Tribe plays there.
