The first fans that jumped to mind were those of Green Bay and Kansas City. It is hard to go against either of those fanbases. I :lmao: at the Philly picks. Cheering Michael Irvin (whom I do not like) while he was down on the field with an injury just showed how low class they are. Best fans? Pfft...they are anything but.

I think the top 3 have to be Chiefs, Packers, and Steelers (in alphabetical order).

Steelers fans probably travel the best, but that might be just because of a larger fanbase. All three have passionate, but still reasonably rational fanbases. I think when you get into the more east coast teams, you get too many crazies.

Eagle fans.

Probably the only stadium in the NFL where you can't wear anything but hometeam gear without fear of your life.
Wear your Iggles Jersey to a Raidas game and see how you're recieved. This coming from a Colts fan.

I put my son on the Giants waiting list when he was born last year. My dad did the same thing for me when I was born, and at 27, I was sent a letter from the Giants saying that tickets were (finally) available. I hope my son gets them before he's 30!
This is one reason it's nice to be a Falcons fan.

Terrible POLL.
A little harsh but I agree with the sentiment. You cannot define something like this and there are to few options in the poll. However even if you had all 32 teams, the only thing this poll would show is how many fans of each team we have on FBGs.If I had to try and be objective about this I would go with what I read from Jay Mohr's column on CNNSI this week. To sum up he asked Nomar Garciapara which team had the most knowledgeable fans and he said New York.

When asked why he felt that way Nomar said "It's the only place where 50,000 fans all yell 'balk' at the same time." I consider knowledge to be an indicator of passion.

From my own experience I say that there are very few things in the entire universe that are more annoying than a transplanted New Yorker in another city.
As a Pats fan I voted for Green Bay. Got to give them credit for being passionate. That little demographic wins the Campbell Soup charity thing every year. And it's pretty poor showing for the OP to start a poll and put his EAGLES in caps and at the top of the list. That's just pathetic.

Bah. Most of those teams listed have only local dominance. Steeler fans, like myself, tend to take over other people's stadiums at away games. I once went to a game in San Fran where the steeler fans so utterly out represented the home fans that Candlestick became Three Rivers West Coast after the niners started to get blown out and emptied of all the lame fair weather niners fans. Just this year you could hear the Steeler fans all throughout their Monday night game at the Chargers. They are one of the few teams whose fans can do that. And they're not even on the poll. :towelwave: :towelwave:

I'll admit, the Steelers fans do travel well. However, the Colts shut those fans up quite nicely. There were no terrible towels to be seens after midway through the second quarter. And it was also nice to see the majority of those same "passionate" fans leaving at the end of the third quarter! :gang1: >>> :towelwave:

Saints fans.
Hell yes.We have the worst coach.

We have the stupidest quarterback.

We have the most sinister owner.

And oh yeah, we just so happen to be the worst team in NFL history.

We don't have a single reason to cheer for this team.

Yet for decades, we do. We've PACKED the Superdome consistently.

Sorry, but as far as loyalty goes, this really isn't a contest. We win.

Green Bay - season ticket waiting list position is over 25,000 people long. If you joined today, you wouldn't be able to get season tickets in your life time.
I voted for the Packers. What other team regardless of whcih sport, do more than 100,000 people own stock in the team.
Anyway, hate to agree with Sabertooth but the cheeseheads win.
During one season in the late 1990s, a grand total of 7 Packer fans gave up their season tickets. Do the math. At that rate, it would take thousands of years to get season tickets.

It's not just Green Bay residents on the waiting list. It's not just Wisconsin folk on the waiting list. It's people all around the country if not the world, including myself.

:goodposting: x6the packers win this one. they are the ONLY team in professional sports that will NEVER leave their city to go play in another one (ala the browns, etc) because they are owned by those same passionate fans :football:

My list:1. Steelers2. Packers3. Chiefs4. RaidersEagles? Jets? They boo the team 1/2 the time or more. That doesn't = best fans to me.

I signed my kids up...they said it's a good 25 years until their seats will be available

Fla\/\/ed

As passionate as the Vikings fans are as much as they are disappointed they deserve a mention here

:horns:
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That's why Red McCombs had to buy tickets for the games just so that they could be aired on local TV!

That's why when I lived there, we used to go to bars to watch the games and there were more Packer Fans there than Vikings fans.

That's why when you go to Vikings/Packers games, there are MUCH more Packers fans than Vikings fans in attendance.

:excited:

Eagles HANDS DOWN. In order to be passionate you have to have two things - interest and frustration. All the others have the interest, but not the frustration. The Jets have the frustration, but not as much interest.I went to college in Philly during the Buddy Ryan days and let me tell you, that city is crazy for football. Add to that they haven't won a Superbowl and you've got a perfect atmosphere of desperation mixed in. Kind of reminds me of the Red Sox fans (pre 2004).

Gotta be the Steelers; I can't believe they weren't one of the choices. Check out how many Steelers fans are present at their away games, waving those towels.

Green Bay sure, top 2 or 3.

I'd say KC though. That stadium is incredible. They don't have the hype of GB, or even the BlackHole(and KC desreves the credit more). I went to only one game there, but it is impressive, incredible and awe inspiring. I obviosely love the Blackhole that I've sat in for 10 years now, but KC has 10k mor seats and they are all filled with great BBQ and great fans.

I hate the SOB's but I respect what they have there in a big way. The Blackhole is incredible and impressive in its own right, but KC's stadium, emotion, and continual passion (the point of the question), is unsurpassed. Hats off to KC....bastards. :banned:
Agree here. They are the best imo. (and nope, Im not a Cheifs fan)

I'd have to say that the Steelers have the best fans in the NFL. Just look at the stands when they are the road team and you see a ton of those freaking towels waving.

Green Bay... hands down. If you've spent any time in Wisconsin, you would agree. Frankly, it is too much, especially when the front page of the newspaper and the lead story on the local news is often ruled by marginally significant Packer "news". It is really a college town type ferver for a single team where you can ask ANYBODY "how a boot doze packerz (sic)?" and they can give you a detailed answer. A definite part of it is that there isn't a lot of other diversions to rally around, sort of like many parts of the south and their devotion to their local college football teams.Incidently, I thought I'd finally get the chance to get tickets now that I moved away, but it is just as difficult to get Packer road tickets as it was to get home tickets, at least without knowing someone.

I'll go with Raider fans. They're also the most dismally misguided. But that comes from a decade of living in SoCal.However, the NICEST fans are Hawk fans. Every game I've gone to up there I've been told by opposing fans that Seattle is the best place to go see a game if you're dressed in opposite colors. They also have signs everywhere reminding you to watch your language and behavior because there are kids and families also watching the game. Sound lame? Not if you've ever been chased through a parking lot for wearing the visitor jersey!!

Either Packers or Chiefs. But I'd put the Packers on top considering they could be 0-15, playing their last game of the year in -40 degree temps, be getting blown out, and Lambeau would still be packed the entire game.

That doesnt make them good fans. It makes them lowlife degenerate idiots
This poll isn't about BEST or GOOD fans...it was for the most PASSIONATE.
Steeler fans travel the best and it doesn't get more passionate than to travel around the country into the opposition's staduim and root on the Steelers.

People who live outside of Philly have no idea what being a fan is. I feel sorry for them.

Merry Christmas everybody! :hophead: :pickle: :hophead:
I feel sorry for you because it sounds like you live in or near Philly and you're an eagles fan. :boxing:

my brother-in-law put my nephew's name on the Giants season ticket list when he was born. My nephew is now 15 and he's still about 2500 out. crazy.

He's not lying.

I vote EAGLES. People in that stadium will actually assault you for wearing the other team's colors. My buddy went to a Giants game at the vet in a Penn State jacket. He was pelted with bottles, cans, trash, and had beer poured all over him just because it looked like a Giants jacket.

I can't speak for the Chiefs or Packers, they seem rather enthusiastic as well. But I can say that I've been to see the Bears (four years ago during their 13-3 run), Bills, Ravens, Redskins, and Giants, on their respective home fields and none are even in the same league as the EAGLES fans. The Bills and Bears fans seemed particularly tame.

I've been to most of the cities mentioned for a game. I would have to say that KC fans win this one. That was the best atmosphere I've ever been in for a game.

The title of this thread is misleading, it calls for best fans and then asks most passionate. Those two scenarios are not mutually exclusive.

I'd rank most passionate(not fanatical) in this order:

Chiefs

Stillers

Eagles

Packers

Dolphins

Cowboys

Redskins

Bears

Jets

etc. etc. etc.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Oh, those crazy Cowboys fans! They even dressed up as empty seats during the 1989 season to parody their lousy team when they weren't front-running!

In terms of overall passion, devotion to their team through thick and thin, attendance at games, intimidation of other teams at their stadium, and knowledge of the game, the Cowboys are trailing all of the other teams in their division. It's not even close.

If not for early organizational success (especially during an era - the 1960's - 1970's when the other teams in their division were pretty weak overall) and marketing themselves to the football gullible as "America's Team" , the Cowboys would be no more notable nowadays than the Falcons, Seahawks, or any other expansion club that is experiencing some success in recent seasons.

Yup.It's 65,000 people long at this point.

"Best" fans at it again in Philly. Clinton Portis' mother had to be escorted down to the field after the bums threw stuff at her. Classy as always.
