Assume it's your standard, PPR scoring system and you're only concerned with 2011 (not dynasty).

Who will be the best rookie running back?

:coffee:

Remember that if we are only talking 2011 FF points it is really a question of who gets the most touches this year.

Unless the Dolphins bring in an established, younger vet to split with Thomas, I think Thomas will have more points than Ingram this year.

I voted williams, but thomas is in play. If the dolphins only add marion barber (as rumored) then thomas should be the primary back there.

How in the world did anyone vote Vereen?

They have 15 RB's and haven't relied heavily on one guy in many years.

Homers.

I'll say Bilal Powell. Greene can't get it done again, McKnight has issues & in comes Powell to save the day.

Ingram, as the Saints traded up in a big way to secure him and they are tired of not having a clear-cut starter at the RB position. Bush is likely gone, PT is always in the doghouse or hurt, Ivory is coming off a major injury, etc. etc.

The Saints will also generate better scoring opportunities for Ingram with their offense then the Dolphins or Cardinals will. Thomas is a solid choice, but I still think there is a very good chance that they will bring in another RB to compete for carries. Williams is very talented, but he wasn't the same guy last year after his injury, so while I am hoping that he will return back to the form that he showed earlier in his career, it is no sure thing. I also think that Wells (if healthy) will respond to the new competition for carries and Hightower is also a factor.

Leshoure is intriguing, as he will have the opportunity for solid carries even with a healthy Best, and if Best was to go down with an injury then he could claim this title as the Lions will have plenty of scoring opportunities.

i like thomas' prospects because miami is a run first team with a decent wr threat to draw some attention but only if there is no veteran presence like ricky or ronnie or mcgahee-type. i can see leshoure winding up the most FF points but primarily through TD vulturing. if best gets injured again, then he has a much higher ceiling. thomas might get drafted too early for my liking so i'm hoping leshoure stays under the radar...

Kendall Hunter in SF. Gore coming off a broken hip and now threatening to hold out means there could be a big opportunity.

Quite the contrary my friend. Us homers would actually not vote for him partially based on the reason you have stated. But keep on haten brutha...

Whatever. This vote should be Ingram by a landslide. Could be the biggest rookie season we have seen in the last 20 years. What a great situation he landed in.

I agree. This really isn't a debate at all, IMO. I think we should be debating who will be 2nd best. For that I vote Helu. I think he's one of the top RBs in this class and in a great situation.Talent-wise I like Carter a lot, too, but he's in a worse situation unless he really separates himself from the crowd.

Curtis Martin ran for 1487 and 14 TD's. Peterson ran 1298 and 12 TD's. With the stable of RB's in NO, Ingram ain't touching either of those.
