What is the best messageboard user interface you've seen? Links to your favorites. Best features. Best practices.

I don't use a lot of other messageboards regularly but https://www.shroomery.org/forums/ is nice.

the only other message board I visit more than once a year is Glacier National Park.. even that is only once or twice a month to see new reports.

On desktop it is terrible, looks like they haven't updated since 1999.

I only visit a few other forums, some of which needn't be mentioned here. They all have their pros and cons. I think the new layout here is great, most of the things people have #####ed about will be forgotten in a few weeks once everyone is acclimated. The biggest downside to fbg is inability to post pics/gifs (assuming they follow through with their promise to disable the feature).

Here is Glacier National Park.. Easy on the eyes and Has always allowed embedded pictures

Only "complaint" is that on the phone you have "zoom in" .. but overall quotes are laid out nicely.. and did I mention embedded images??

The somethingawful.com forums have a neat feature where instead of clicking a star to go to the first unread post, there's a number next to the thread title that shows the number of new posts since you last read the thread.  

They also have thread tags, thread ratings, images, embedded video, gifv support.

This one is a mess. I can't really use it on mobile at all. It might be the end of my posting career.
