Unlucky's Phenoms Fantasy football leagues payout around 90% just do a search and you'll find it (not sure if it's ok to link to it.)
Unlucky's site is phenomsff; leagues were just posted and there are entry fees in your range.
i look forward to that article, jeff. rotobowl doesn't look so hot to me though. 250 entry, 12 team league = $3000, they payout $1350 which is 45%. there is about $35000 in fixed payout prizes: if there are 100 rotobowl leagues, that's $135000 not payed back out of which they payback about $35000. so, overall they would payout 66% assuming 100 leagues. i don't know how many there were last year, but if there were more than 100 the payout gets even worse.I'll be posting some impartial reviews of some High Stakes Contests out there this year to the site in the next two weeks, but you already have some good options. You should check into Phenoms, FFPC, Rotobowl, and PayDay. WCOFF may have a satellite as well at this price range. Rotobowl's Main Event is $250-300 IIRC.Fantasy Jungle is also out there.(Usual disclaimer - this is by no means an endorsement of any of the above contests - just providing info).
IIRC there were maybe 30 leagues last year? Check that - 29.They pay ~4x for first, >1x for 2nd, and something for 3rd and 4th.The thing is, with national contests, the big $ prize has to come from somewhere - so ~30-40% of the entry fees comes from each league. If you're looking to get best ROI on your $ and not shoot for a big prize, go with a 10-16 team league with good payouts. If you want a shot (and a tough shot) at a BIG prize, sign up for High Stakes contests. Just understand the likelihood of winning that big # is very low.i look forward to that article, jeff. rotobowl doesn't look so hot to me though. You should check into Phenoms, FFPC, Rotobowl, and PayDay. wow, i'm surprised only 30 leagues were there last year. that makes the payout MUCH better. ie - 35000+30*1350 / 3000*30 = 78%'ish not at all badIIRC there were maybe 30 leagues last year? That's cool that you're doing that Jeff. Keep in mind it's never just about ROI and I'm an economist. There are major variables other than just the cost and payback that won't be captured. And, make sure that we're not comparing live versus online options. If it's all online comparison, it should be much closer to apples to apples. It's tough to factor all of the subjective qualities of a live tournament unless you've ever been there to compete. I know JP won't lose sight of this, but this is a huge factor that needs to be considered.I'll be posting some impartial reviews of some High Stakes Contests out there this year to the site in the next two weeks, but you already have some good options. You should check into Phenoms, FFPC, Rotobowl, and PayDay. Agreed Rads. The OP asked basically about ROI though, so was just answering his question. Many High Stakes players look for more camaraderie regarding more serious fantasy players. Also WCOFF and Rotobowl make it more of an event, and I know many who have done one or the other and said that the event was worth it. Again - not endorsing any particular contests, but my location and schedule have afforded me to go to Rotobowl for several years in Atlantic City and it was a pretty good event.I also bumped into several other FF'ers I know there that were also doing the WCOFF AC event last year. But I digress - the focus here I think was the $ you can win for your entry fee. That's cool that you're doing that Jeff. You make a good point here regarding the high stakes contest and the amount required from the league fees to pay it. I think it should also be pointed out that in the individual leagues you should look at not just the payout percentage but how it's paid. All to the winner, split between 4-6 top finishers, etc. What league would you rather play in - a 90% payout percentage where 1st place gets 1/2 of the prize pool? Or an 80% payout with 1st taking all or almost all of that?IIRC there were maybe 30 leagues last year? NFFC down? Didn't mean to exclude them. I just didn't know their satellite / price point options.texasheat said:NFFC down?
