HDD is so cool.FOR EXAMPLE, I just discovered if you list receiving yards, by season, and look at the top 100 seasons turned in, not one of them happened in the 1970s

THAT is strange

Even worse is actually coming here and saying "lol, I really don't know anything about this and now I'm trying to save face. Someone else, please argue for me because I'm unable to."
you've got to be kidding... it's not like i have my first born child riding on this answer! i've never claimed to be an expert on the history of the NFL and the records and stats of all the players. i posted it here because i knew the FBG's would know the answer without me having to spend hours upon hours searching for the data. i knew that someone had already done the research and that's why i asked. Marek, i guess you go by the old saying, "Work Harder, not Smarter"it's just a friendly banter back and forth, he says my team sucks and i say his team sucks (even if we really don't feel that way).

You'll score more points if you say "Peyton has the most yards & TD's but that doesn't really compare well across era or take into accounts things like winning titles, although he has one."

Go deep into history and you might impress him as well as ragging on him.

But easily explanable. They only played 14 games a year through 1977 (and even fewer in the 60s). And they ran the ball way more than they did today. For example . . .In today's game, we would not be surprised to see a player have a season with 96 receptions, 1236 reciving yards, and 4 receiving TDs. Fantasy wise, that would not have been a Top 15 season for a WR in 2006.HOWEVER . . .In 1973, those totals were what the BUFFALO BILLS put up AS A TEAM. They had over 3,000 yards RUSHING that year.

Nah, then you'll just look like you are making excuses.I don't mind your razzing of him, by putting doubt in his mind. Just be sure to eventually say "Yeah, you were right."

For what it's worth...Marino might have completed more commericials than Manning. Manning has been on a tear the last few years....but Marino did a ton of glove commericals for years....he could have the edge.

what about Don Hutson... was he any good?
In fact, arguably the best ever. WR that is.lol @ how much genuflecting people are doing to Manning now that "he" has won a SB, when many of the same people were much more down on him because of no SB ring. Funny how a defense playing well makes a QB so much better :goodposting:

here we go...Marino v. Manning ... part 32

Favre (What About Mary) & Marino (Ace Ventura) have Manning edged in major motion picture appearances as well....although it was past 9 years in the league for Marino. Lay that info on your boss....he will have to agree than Manning is not the best.
