Yeah, I bought into him early on a prayer. I dumped him after it became clear that the Jets were content with a 3.8 ypc rushing avg. Not sure that will change this season, so I'll look elsewhere
Have to agree here - he gets no buzz here at all. Seemed like a Rex Ryan kind of player (which is why I bought into him in my dynasty leagues), but then again, so was Woodhead. Rex didn't know what to do w/ him either. After a few years, it's pretty clear Rex is not really one to go against consensus. No real depth chart surprises/etc. There will have to be injuries for Powell to get any kind of shot.Living in ny, this guy gets no pub.
This year will be about a greene litmus test and then if he gets dinged or sucks, it will be about the undersized body and live legs of McKnight. Zero redraft value, no one talks about him at all.
The terminator would get touches before him IMO.
Just a Ny vibe take it for what it's worth
With LT hurt and Shonn Green alley ooping passes meant for him to defenders (as well as generally sucking as a runner), it may be time for Rex to see what he has in Powell. Good speculative pickup right now if he is on the wire. Especially dynasty. With Tomlinson's late game injury last night, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Powell activated for the 1st time this season. An aging LT with three days' rest, I don't see him suiting up against an average Broncos' run defense!McKnight will surely be ahead of him in the depth chart, but this situation is worth monitoring! I may snag him up again in my dynasty league JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUST in case!
Wow. I would not have sold him alone for Battle.I was on the Powell bandwagon earlier in the year, but recently sold him & Roy Williams in dynasty for Battle.
That's why he saddled the other guy with Roy Williams...Wow. I would not have sold him alone for Battle.I was on the Powell bandwagon earlier in the year, but recently sold him & Roy Williams in dynasty for Battle.

I hope this is true and we get to see Powell in game action. I've been sitting on him all year in a Keeper league were we get to protect our starting lineup and 2 un-played rookies (in our games, not the NFL). I want to see him play and decide if I want to hold him or deal him to a Jets fan in our league.Anyone out here been to the NYJ facility to see him practice? I'd be curious to hear a scouting report (ya, even a practice). How does he look? Does he show anything in the way of work ethic?Rotoworld says Powell will be active.http://rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/220128/report-tomlinson-will-sit-out-broncos-game
Sometimes you just have to take a risk.Wow. I would not have sold him alone for Battle.I was on the Powell bandwagon earlier in the year, but recently sold him & Roy Williams in dynasty for Battle.
Fumbling on the goal line has to rank as the worst possible outcome for a rookie seeing his first action. That said, he didn't see enough action to make such a drastic decision one way or another. As pathetic as the Jets offense is, though, I think they're better using a guy like McKnight who can run it a little but also provide them with a passing outlet out of the backfield because Sanchez is just incapable of going down field.I wasn't able to watch the game, but his stat line tonight looks horrible. Can anyone comment? Is he a drop? Or was the Denver D just that good?
He is one of those players that we have not seen enough action to know what he is really worth. IIRC he just got some carries in just that one game and fumbled in the end zone (although the Jets recovered). As I recall Bloom was pretty high on him in the preseason, but I don't know if he is still as enthusiastic. He is a definite hold for at least another season in anything with a roster of 24 or above. Below that it turns on who else you have - I own him a 14 keeper and presently he is not slated to make the cut (I hope to trade him to the Greene owner). I think he has value as a trade bargaining chip as you mentioned, but probably only to those who have liked him all along, don't think anything much has changed since the draft to win any new converts.Curious to hear people's thoughts on Powell's dynasty value after the way Greene has performed lately. I'm in rebuilding mode and get contacted frequently about his availability by some of the savvier members of the league which means they share my high opinion of him.....as of now I'm planning on holding onto him vs trading but was hoping to hear how others are valuing him. All I'm going off of is his college tape. I'm going to be looking to trade some young RB pieces for WR at some point but not sure what kind've bargaining chip I have in him......especially as compared to Ryan Williams, Leshoure, & Vereen. Thanks for the help/opinions.
oofDropping D.Will for Powell or J.Rodgers tonight
Agree. He is worth holding but I don't think he is worth much more than a flyer right now. Things can change quickly in the off season though. If LT is waived his value will go up. If we start hearing positive reviews out of camp, his value will go up. If he has a few good preseason games, his value will go up. I intend to hang onto him at least into the preseason. If he is still buried on the depth chart and doesn't have some stellar preseason games, I will cut him then.Powell hasn't shown a thing yet and I'm being kind. He's a hold LT has to be gone next year but McNight can take that role.
