Billions (1 Viewer)

Bobby just got dumped by his girl,  does Wendy a solid,  Wendy is pissed at Chuck and Bobby hates chuck.  There is zero percent chance that Bobby doesnt hit that when she comes over.  That would have been a great way to end the season and to set up the tension for whats to come.  No man alive in that scenario would not of hit that.

I just caught up on this. While I really liked seasons 2-3, season 4 was just a drag. Not sure I can point to one thing in particular, but the show just generally seems extremely repetitive at this point.

Wife and I just started watching this a couple of weeks ago.  We're mid-way through S2 right now.  As someone who works in financial services, I'm really enjoying it.

Billions is back this weekend. They have the first 2/3 of the season complete (7 episodes). The remainder will air later this year, probably.

Similar story here - just finished S4.  We freaking love this show.

I remember the end of last season when Taylor was planning to be a  “double agent” in the chuck/axe war. Why did the whole TMC operation relocate to the Axe Capital headquarters? That detail didn’t resonate with me

It's one of them fancy rooms where you pay to break ####.

One thing I love about this show is that there's always a 30-60 second infomercial for some wild rich people's #### shoe-horned in. Like a swim-in-place pool.

I didn't know they really had those. What's next, hunting humans?

This show was so over the top this week.

Unable to reconcile Saler’s department stores working with Taylor (Taylor controlled the chain’s main appliance supplier, Kling), Axe shuts down all Saler’s locations and moves all its “toxic debt” into Kling, thus forcing Kling to declare bankruptcy and decimating Mason Capital in the process.

The new season started, and I didn't think I finished last season.

Decided to do a catch up, and remembered why I didn't finish.

If there was a way to fast forward through each conversation, where I can get past the clumsy, wordy historical or pop culture reference, and get to the actual subject of the conversation, I might bother.

The annoying part is the writing thinks it's clever with each reference, but thinks the audience is a moron, and they then explain each reference before the conversation moves on.

As I write this it occurs to me that if everyone's least favorite character, Ari Spyros, wrote a TV show, it would be Billions.

Although it was an earlier season, the embodiment of this is the scene where they're talking about whether Ari is a "Willbury."  Just a bunch of guys using a forced pop culture analogy in a way that nobody talks, ever.

Trying not to read recent posts since I'm only as far as the second season, but surprised this show isn't getting more love/attention in here. It's pretty darn entertaining.

Interested to hear your thoughts after you catch up.

I'm a fan, or I was at least. I love the concept. Really enjoyed 3 seasons. They do a pretty amazing job of adding characters to the show, now that I think about it. They add new characters every season, and most of them, I liked. Very original.

5 seasons in, every character sounds like Aaron Sorkin memorized Trivial Pursuit, then did a bunch of meth.
