Disc Golf? (1 Viewer)

Didn't find a thread, but after a maybe 15 year hiatus or restart, I'm jumping back in. Course nearby close enough I run by it all the time figured "Those Bros look like they are having fun"

Totally forgot about all the disc flight numbers and all. Still recovering from a left broken elbow, so this is the perfect replacement for me. The vibe on these courses is similar but also much different to those on a real golf course.

Having fun

So yeah, I didn't know anything about anything and went like 3 years ago to purchase a few discs.

Went back (lol) 3 years later this past Friday with just that Innova Leopard3 Champion Fairway Driver and Innova Aria Putt/Approach

Safe to say I struggled getting the disc even close to the holes on my drives (course has at least 3 400 footers) with a 7 speed disc (Fairway driver, I'm good I thought)

So naturally I watched like 2 hours of youtube to get re learn some stuff bc I know the high speed stuff you really gotta know how to throw a disc

Bounced around between Sports Basement, Big 5, Play it again Sports and Dicks and man, ****'s was unimpressive with their selection (only innovo), Play It Again's stuff was BEAT UP, Big 5 was pretty lame too - Sports Basement a chain? Just opened up and they had a really decent selection of brands and disc types

So I came away with 2 more and I guess I still need to add either a Mako or Buzzz as that 5 speed mid

Distance: Innova Star Wraith 11/5/-1/3

and

Fairway Driver: Innova Halo Sidewinder 9/5/-3/1

First hole on the same course ripped the Sidewinder, landed within 10-15 feet of Hole 1, where on Friday I was a good 70-100 feet short b/c I was using that Leapard3 (lol)

That -3 is DEFINITELY what I need to get back into things with re learning how to properly throw

Was scared of tossing that Wraith until hole 5 which is a bomb uphill 420 foot so really didn't care too much of "losing it"

Man, I'm so back lol

Well its been fun. Hitting consistently 11-12 over par at my local course, not so great.

Went to play it again sports, got a bunch of discs

Lost my best one 2 weeks back in a tree

Look for it EVERY TIME i got past the tree every time to even try to spot the disc.

Good news - got the disc down on Monday, even took a picture and sent to my playing partner

Bad news - while doing this I somehow had my entire wallet fall out and its on the course or in someones possession now

Wife is super stoked at my new hobby

I'm playing El Dorado in Long Beach at the moment.

The PDGA "Long Beach Classic" is this weekend and lol boy are those holes LONGER now.

Want to go down to Huntington Beach and play that course at some point shortly.

Anyone following worlds? Aderhold shot 14 down at The Monster in round 2, that’s incredible. Almost an 1100 rated round

Yes...weather delay was great for pushing back viewing times for us here in the states!

Is this the thread we talk about Kristin Latt having a nervous breakdown before our eyes, or should we go to the other one?
****...didn't see what happened??
She was interviewed after Round 1 (she had shot even par and was tied for 9th at the time), and said that she's just struggling to get through rounds. That's she's riddled with anxiety and can't sleep right now. Brian Earhardt graciously ended the interview after the initial question. I don't know if it's the expectations that she would just dominate in Europe and particularly last week in Estonia got too much for her or not.

AB is absolutely shredding on moving day. 13 down through 13 and now with a 2 shot lead despite being on the third card. Aderhold can't get out of first gear, but neither can Buhr.

AB finished 15 down. Buhr got going on the back nine and shot 10 down to take a two shot lead into the final round.

15-year-old Finnish girl would have a huge lead if she hadn't shot a 13 on 16. She's still in the lead, but Henna is lurking.

OMG - the FPO sunday finish was one of the craziest things I've ever seen. So much better than watching the mens.

The missed putts from Evalina and Henna were so hard to watch. Wow. And then the 15 year old getting horrible advice from her father...they didn't even know their score total when she laid up on 18. Crazy stuff

I only tuned in to FPO in time to see Ohn hit the putt to win in the playoff. So I'm not entirely sure what happened. But it's always nice to see just about everyone's favorite player get her first Open World Championship at 44. I've said before that Ohn is the player I always feel I can learn the most from because her arm limitations force her to think her way around the course.

Buhr is his own good story, I guess. I find him easier to admire than to like what with the pace of play stuff and maybe just a bit more of the Jesus-y stuff than I'm really comfortable with. But he's the clear best player in the world and you can never feel cheated when the best player in the world wins a major.

I would be worth your while to watch the full back nine of the FPO. I can count on both hands the number of times my jaw hit the floor. Truly remarkable to watch.
