Chris Brown is privy to a whole lot of inside info at One Bills Drive. My guess is that the Bills are pretty close to getting a deal done for Marcus Stroud. Either way, Tripplett was certainly a bust for Buffalo.Less than two years after signing defensive tackle Larry Tripplett to a five-year deal, the Bills parted ways with the veteran Friday in a surprise move. Tripplett never provided quite the consistent impact Buffalo had hoped for.
Tripplett had three years left on the contract he signed with the Bills back in the 2006 offseason. He was one of the team's first free agent signings under head coach **** Jauron.
He started all 16 games in each of his two seasons with Buffalo. Last season at the three-technique position Tripplett recorded 51 tackles, his first career interception, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and a sack.
The move could be a precursor to another at the position.
Buffalo now has just two defensive tackles under contract in Kyle Williams and John McCargo. They also tendered a qualifying offer to restricted free agent Jason Jefferson Thursday. Corey Mace was tendered as an exclusive rights free agent.
