I don't know about that...but after watching both episodes, I think it could end up being a pretty legit representation of what Jesus would be like if he lived in these times. The key to show is that he never really does anything that is totally screwed up. Sure, he swears and gets loaded and high, but isn't that part of being human? If the show starts to show him doing things that are evil or perverted, then I would argue that is over the line, but for now it pretty much has him giving moralistic lessons in a ghetto style. I sort of like his portrayal...he reminds me of a super crass, religious version of Fat Albert.

show is pretty cool. it's not over the top stereotypical, as I figured it to be. the characters seem to have been written real, if that makes sense. I think the message is pro christian, pro religion, in a Compton kind of way. the interactions between the clique are pretty funny.

Have you watched it? I haven't. But from everything I read, it sounds like they are celebrating Christianity, not mocking it.

There have only been two episodes so far....I don't know if I would go as far as saying they are celebrating it, but it seems like there is some subtext within the show that definitely is not on the level of mocking it. If anything, you might be able to make an argument that it mocks black people.
