NOW and dynasty are a bad match unless you're contending for a championship, which you aren't.I don't think Howard is the kind of player who will age well. Jim Thome has done alright with a comparable skillset but Howard is a more extreme three true outcomes guy. Even if Howard's batting eye doesn't fall apart completely, Cabrera will be a much better player five years from now.

Beckett/Verlander are comparable, Howard/M. Cabrera are comparable, and Weaver easily makes up any difference you could argue that you might have from the first two. I'd do the deal and feel good about it.
