blooms buy low article (1 Viewer)

If I had written BLSH this week, one of the top BL targets would have been Calvin Johnson - Im afraid he might break out this week and deny me the chance to feature him next week. Heap is also a great buy low right now. I would definitely be selling Chris Henry (CIN), seems like a ticking time bomb, and PHolmes/KSmith and Fargas if I had them on my roster this week.
I saw in the 5 Minute drill that there is not much love for Fargas. I understand why, and the reasons are certainly valid. I do not think he has too high of a sell value though based upon his history and the perception of the offense that he plays in. I am personally of the opinion that he is not worth selling right now because I dont think you can get much for him and he does have some nice upside as a potential featured RB on a team that seems hell-bent to run the ball. I also think that while there is risk involved, it makes sense to hold him for this week at home against the below average Chicago run D. If he has another 100 and 1 week, he may actually command some solid value.

I am hoping to keep him as a quality starter myself. If not for the reasons above, then because "Fargas" was the name for "Bizzaro Newman" in a classic half hour of television, and his name makes me smile every time I hear it.

Fargas!

Is C Benson buy low? or is he done? Love your work Bloom!
Buy low for redraft (assuming you have/can get the other APete), Done for dynasty. Thanks for the kind words!
Wow, I'm surprised to see you say done for dynasty. Out of the top 20? Obviously. He'll be a substantial part of the Bears backfield next year. Will he see the load he's seeing this year? Heck no. However, maybe he turns out the type that performs better in a time share (yeah I realize he was viewed as the workhorse 20-25 carry back out of college, but there was no mistaking he looked a lot more agile when getting his reps with TJ. I just don't see him taking backseat as much to anyone in 2008 like he did TJ in '05/'06).The Bears IMO will be addressing the O-line and QB positions before they address a full-time RB to overtake Benson. Getting less reps for sure. I guess I view him as a RB3 type with decent upside (I just don't consider that as sticking a fork in him) :rolleyes:Wow, I just realize that I defended Cedric Benson.

I have a feeling that if Benson doesnt turn it around the next 8 games, he may not be in a Bears uni next year, because I dont know if he can accept going back to the bench - he didnt exactly do well with being TJones backup, how is he going to deal with being demoted? The Bears could draft/sign an RB that will be a clear upgrade from Benson (not that that's hard) and APete keeps his same role and Wolfe is the novelty back, where does that leave Benson?PS I hear ya on the :goodposting: I was even defending him while he actually ran hard during the time when everyone was waking up to how mediocre he was.

I still think the funniest part of that ep is the way all the bizarro (which really means normal) version of Jerry, George, and Kramer think Elaine is a freak for just taking something out of the fridge, the shove with "Get Out!" when she's psyched... awesome stuff - proves that we all have the friends we should have even if they arent the friends we want to have.

Hey Bloom,

Is LJ a good candidate for buy low in a dynasty? I ask because my team is solid, but I think I can get LJ/Hines for TO to a struggling owner.

Basically, I would take a hit this year at my WR3 slot (currently starting Wayne, Boldin, TO...will then be starting Wayne, Boldin, (Ward, Coles)

Is this move worth it to get potentially a steal, or will LJ be next years' version of this years' Shaun Alexander?
