I'm pretty sure Tank Tyler would not be a great fit - and I'm not enthused about Justin Harrell, either. Ikaika Alama-Francis sounds intriguing, but he'd be a "reach" at 32.
Why don't you like Tyler or Harrell? And I'm not certain that Alama-Francis won't be a surprise 1st rounder.
Tyler's a 2-gap DT, the Colts run a 1-gap. Harrell - I can't explain it as well, but it seems like that would be a pick just to fill a need instead of getting the best player available. The last time the Colts got a 1st rounder to mainly fill a need was LB Rob Morris - and while he wasn't a complete bust, he definitely was the weakest of the recent Colts' first round picks in the Manning era. I'd rather have them take a Dallas Clark or a Reggie Wayne than a Rob Morris.
I say the Colts trade back into the 2nd round if unless a player is there that they just can't pass on. I agree DT and LB are the biggest needs, but I wouldn't be opposed to taking a WR high or even a DE to rotate with Freeney and Mathis.
You know I was kinda thinking the same thing. Why not consider taing a WR with the 32nd pick? Harrison is getting pretty close to retirement and there is no solid #3 in Indy. I think now would be a great time for them to draft a WR so he can sit back a year or two with no big-time pressure and just be a sponge to Harrison and Wayne. I think it's a very good possability they go WR if the right one is still on the board.
I have them taking a WR at the end of the 3rd, and there will certainly be some quality guys there at 95, but a guy like a Jason Hill, Steve Smith, Anthony Gonzalez would be a terrific fit at 32.
If they take a WR with the 32nd pick then that WR has to move up the rookie dynasty boards. I think I would rather take that WR (depending which one) than WR's drafted before him.

Can you guys coach me up on David Harris? What I'm reading makes it sound like his playing speed is lacking and he isn't as proficient in coverage as a guy like Buster Davis. Disagree? And I agree with the sentiment that the Bengals break their pattern of taking an OL in the first three rounds this year. I suppose you could see a WR or RB come off in the first three rounds given the uncertainty there if someone they really like falls but I think the first two rounds are going to be defensive picks, where there's a need at every position.
Harris looks like he's slow, but he's obviously not. He's always where the ball is, slides down the line really well, and ran a 4.59 at the combine. He's really thick, so that might give the appearance of being slower, but he flat makes plays. His job was to stop the run, so he'll need work on coverage. I'd love to see Cincy grab him in the second.

Bloom: One of the better mocks I've seen. The top 10 this year could go so many ways, but you've laid out a realistic scenario. Anyway, as a Packer fan, I really like the picks of Revis - who would fit into the press man GB plays, and Irons - a complementary back in a rotation. While I don't love Lynch, if he were to fall to them I think the Packers would have a very tough choice if Revis were also on the board (rumblings around here are that they really like Revis) and wouldn't be surprised if they passed on Lynch (though I'm sure others would be). If Irons (RB) falls that far I'd be a little surprised. Also, in Round 2, I think that if either Weddle (S) or Miller (TE) drop a couple spots they would be good fits as well. That second round pick is sort of tough to figure out if one of those top players that also fill a need (WR, TE, S, RB) don't fall. Usually a BPA makes the most sense, which is what you have. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Ben Patrick go to GB in the third while hoping Brandon Jackson (RB Nebraska) falls to the fourth or if they reach for Irons.

Nice job! Looking forward to seeing V2.0.

The Titans need a #1 WR. If they wait til round #2, they can get a quality #2 (Steve Smith, Craig Davis), but I think the drop off from #19 to #50 is much greater for WR's than for DE's or according to your draft CB's. For instance your draft gets:

1) Chris Houston CB

2) Steve Smith WR

I would rather have:

1) Dwayne Bowe WR

2) Marcus McCauley CB

or

1) Dwayne Bowe WR

2) Victor Abiamiri DE

Very thought-provoking mock draft, IMHO.

However, I would be willing to wager absolutely everything that I own that the Bears will not select Stanton or any other QB with their first-round pick. I 100% guarantee that won't happen.

Rex Grossman sucks, but the Bears' record of drafting/signing free-agent QBs is appalling. Plus, they still think Kyle Orton has potential.

I have since backed off that pick, and admitted that it was more a shot at Rex than anything else - I agree now that the bears will not take a QB with their first. Thanks for the feedback! My 7 rounder will hopefully be done this weekend.

Still think the Bengals go CB-LB, although I don't see much that excites me at LB in the 2nd. If they go LB-CB, they could get a better combination, IMHO. They just need help at those positions more than OL or WR.

Of course, it was my not-so-humble opinion that Billy Donovan would be coaching UK right now :lmao:
