With the new heroes, I think i'm going to dump my 69% powerstone masterpiece and plug in a 17% GBE.

I have 270 powders so I think I'll be ok for long time.

 
Also, the 3rd prototype weapon makes Hammerman defense much easier. It'd be fun if Hammerman makes an appearance as a BlackGuard hero during defenses.

So along with the Cryomania, there's in game news previews for both heroes which have some details I hadn't seen before from the video. I figured I would summarize them here for the sake of discussion.

  • Heroes do not need retrained even if they are knocked out in battle
  • The passive abilities are called "Hero Perks".
  • Hero stats and Perk are upgraded via gold
  • Abilities are upgraded via Hero Tokens, obtained via the Trader
  • It is "Trader" not Traitor
  • You exchange Trader Tickets for Trader Crates which contain a random number of Hero Tokens
Sgt Brick:

  • Hero Perk - Grenade Spammer - 'Every time she locks onto a new target, she'll fire off a powerful explosive'
  • Cluster Grenade - Upgrading increases damage dealt
  • Iron Will - 50% damage reduction, upgrades increase duration
  • Battle Orders - Increases movement speed and "attack damage bonus". Upgrading increases bonuses.
Captain Everspark:

  • Hero Perk - Robot Overlord - No real new info
  • Critter Swarm - Upgrading increases the number of critters
  • Explosive Charge - Deals massive damage to the "nearest" defensive building. Upgrading increases blasts power.
  • Universal Remote - Structure is stunned before the effect wears off. Upgrade increase the damage bonus given to the hacked structure.
At HQ4 you can repair a "Derelict Hut" which is "off the coast of your base" to get access to Brick. I assume this is just a fancy way of saying there's a new building. It appears the hut will be where you organize and upgrade Heroes. Everspark is unlocked by beating Gearheart's level 45 War Factory after which she's available in the Hut.

Hope I didn't miss any details.

 
I'm trying to get Brick upgraded as quickly as possible. But getting Everspark might be hard, I don't remember what lvl45 Gearhart looks like.

 
Tank/medic attacks are the only ones that smash my base (with the occasional smoke/warrior), adding a hero buff will be tough to stop even with an extra prototype weapon.

 
Aaah, thanks. I found her. I thought I needed to beat a new Gearhart to unlock her.

Hmmm, we can only use one hero per attack.

 
So the man looking sargent has a Warden-like ability that I like a lot. Much better than that stupid grenade, haven't tried the yelling at troops to keep them alive ability yet ;-)

 
What army are you rocking? Thought you were max troops? I use tanks & healers, usually don't have a problem.
I have max troops.
I used heavies, medic, cryo and zooka. This is my default loadout unless it's obvious I need something different.

posted my attack on Doc T lvl7 for you to take a look at. I've had pretty good luck lately with it but it is base dependent.

 
Hi all.  I thought I'd drop by and see if FBG is still actively playing.  I had a very nice Task Force group and so I never stopped by, but we've dropped down to maybe 3 or 4 players and a bunch of dead weight.  How many are still active in your task force?

More to the point, are you looking for some guys?  I'm a 59, and I have a 53-52 that play always...

What's your boat mix on that? I was running that for awhile and recently dropped cryo. Currently running 4 heavies a healer and 3 zookas

Still working my boats up. Almost have them all to 20.

I wasn't a fan of the cryo early on, but when they're maxed, their 50% slow beam helps with cannons and boom cannons. So I just left them in. I also spend a bunch of GBE taking out shock launchers and boom cannons before each attack, so I've been a tad resistant to scorchers and tanks.

Same thing I take out with tank/medics but I still have plenty left to launch tanks. Scorchers I gave up on, takes too much GBE and can't clear enough defense to keep the scorchers alive.

 
Put in my request to join.  Thought I'd hang for a week and if its all good then bring my friends along.  Looks pretty full?

You're in. We can use some more active players to help take down Ops.
We've got 3 more active guys in my other task force.  We were much larger but everyone kind of died off over the past year.  told them I'd check it out first.  Looks like their might be only 2 spots available...

We've been stuck attacking the same operation for months now because our 'force' is too small to do anything past Ticker Tape and it was getting old.  Then I saw this thread and thought, FK, why hadn't I checked FBG to see if they were running a TF.

We have been hit or miss on bottleneck and sour grapes for a while.

I'm in a dead group myself.  I wouldn't mind trying a large one for a bit.  I'm not the most skillful player, but I have grinded my way to max tanks and scorchers (my drop and ignore attack stategy).

I certainly don't want to push out anyone in the task force that is just taking a couple of week break.  I'm not that guy.  

Would you be interested in expanding to the next level up? Is it 50?  I don't think there is any negative impact that I know of.  Let me check and confirm that it doesn't require more intel or anything to start op's.

Then maybe Bull Dozier could come along also and no one has to get run.

Don't worry about it, that list is dead weight and has been for a while.

 
Zubayr in particular said he was taking some time off.  He was a guy who always contributed to operations and was very active.
Pretty sure Zub threw in the towel across the board. We ditched him in Clash of Clan's a while ago. He's in Saudi so tough to sync up but all his bases were long dead when we ditched him.

This new update seems confusing at first, but I think I have the main chunks figured out.

Once you open up a full (color-coded) section of the map, it allows you to use the native militia to take out blackguard bases. Level 1 (default) militia only yields 20% of the blackguard loot. Each level up increases the loot received by 20% until you reach level 5 with 100% of the loot. Using militia to beat Blackguard bases is free I think, but yields less loot (unless fully upgraded) than if you beat it with your own troops.

Militias are upgraded by raw crystals that have to be traded for with gold or resources, at higher and higher increments per level. I don't think the militia levels reset every 14 days like the boosts.

I didn't tinker with the builder base or instant troop training.
