'Bombshell...Dwayne Bowe suspended 4 games effective immediately - violates NFL performance enhancing drugs policy'

ETA article:

The Kansas City Chiefs today confirmed that the National Football League has suspended WR Dwayne Bowe for four games for “violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.” Bowe’s suspension will begin immediately.

As a result of the league suspension, the team will have no further comment.

Ouch.

There is no way to overstate how much this hurts the Chiefs. For an offense that has had nothing but problems this season, it’s hard to imagine the passing game doing much of anything against Pittsburgh.

Todd Haley likes to talk about opportunities… Well, Lance Long, Mark Bradley and Bobby Wade have a huge one in front of them right now. Chris Chambers immediately becomes the Chiefs No. 1 receiver and one of the aforementioned guys will have to step up to be his running mate.

Long-term, this may be his ticket out of KC...

Which can't be all bad for dynasty FF owners...

WOW... I just traded Greg Olsen for Bowe last week and I was planning to use Bowe alongside Sims-Walker for the rest of the year. There goes my plan.. GOOD GRIEF! :banned:

This plus losing Ronnie Brown puts the finishing touches on one of my crappiest seasons ever. Bowe never really got it going but there was always hope that he would. Crap

A couple notes from Adam Schefter:

'From what I gather, Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe was trying to lose weight in training camp and took a diuretic.'

'Bowe found out about his suspension earlier this month and has decided not to appeal it. He knows those are battles players don't win.'

'So there it is. Now we know why the Chiefs claimed wide receiver Chris Chambers off waivers. They knew Bowe suspension was coming.'

If it's a diuretic, it's very akin to the StarCaps case. I'm surprised he didn't try to appeal it like the Williamses.

Lance Long benefits the most imo. Chambers will see the majority of the coverage and in PPR, Long becomes very viable imo.
