What happened today was inevitable, because New England plays its December games in cold weather. You can't rely on Brady and Moss to perform under those conditions. If you own one or either of these players, strong chances are you will be hurt by them sometime during the fantasy playoffs.

However, the Brady or Moss owner may have escaped this year (Brady owner more unlikely but its possible) because of where these players were drafted probably allowed these owners to get other quality players in high draft positions. That won't be the case next year. In order to get Brady, you're going to have to take him with your first pick. In order to get Moss, you'll probably have to spend your second pick on him.

And that means you'll have less consistency in other positions, especially the all important RBs. If Brady and Moss perform even close to this year (that's certainly no guarantee in itself) then you will most likely make the playoffs with these guys, only to see them fold once more in the snow again. And this time, you won't have other guys to back you up, because you spent too much on Brady and Moss in the draft.

Unless one of them falls into my lap, I'm not going to draft them next year. Simply because of weather conditions during the FF playoffs, I'd still rather have Peyton than Brady.

Your threads and posts are getting worse by the day. Not to mention the pathetic premise of this thread but what about the possibility that the Patriots played on the road at a site not affected by the weather and should everyone ignore all players that could be impacted by the weather in the fantasy playoffs.....Green Bay, both New York teams, Pitt, Philly, Buffalo, Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, Washington and Baltimore not to mention the possibility of heavy rain in Seattle, Jacksonville, Nashville, San Francisco and Miami.

I'll happily lock up the #1 pionts, a bye and take my chances in the December playoffs with Brady et al by balancing out those who play in cold weather and starting a reserve from SF, SD etc. if i need to during week 2 of the playoffs.

Thanks for the support! But New England does seem tp historically have worse weather in December than all of these places, with the possible exception of Cleveland. My point is that BRady (and Moss) will demand such a high draft pick that this weather scenario will come into play and bite somebody- very few players will be so affected- Brady is the only QB in a position to be drafted so high. But if you still believe this idea to be pathetic, feel free to revisit it a ear from now and see if I am right about this.

Yahoo! has an interesting feature which shows players who are owned most often in the Top 500 fantasy teams in Yahoo! public leagues. Brady and Moss are, far and away, the leading players on this list. This tells me that they are the most valuable players in fantasy football this year.There is no way either one of them should last past the first round in fantasy drafts next year.

OK OK Obviously everybody disagrees with me, that's fine. I plan on belonging to this site next year, and if I'm wrong about this, I'll come on this thread and write about how ridiculous I am. I've certainly written some absured things this year, including that I thought the Steelers were as good as any team in the NFL (I wrote that in week 6) and that the Redskins were the best team in the NFC (I wrote that in week 4). I've made plenty of predictions that turned out totally wrong. But I'll stand by this one and see what happens...

I don't think they'll be nearly as good next year and people will overpay for them and be somewhat disappointed when they don't repeat (or come close) to this year's stats. Depending on your league structure, taking a WR or a QB in the first round usually means they need to put up a career season to justify the pick (unless we're talking about Jerry Rice). The odds are simply against it. But I agree with the OP in that people will draft Brady & Moss in the first round and regret it.

Just like Manning after his record setting season and LT this year...although neither became full on busts, they didn't get close to the prior year's success. I predict the same for Moss/Brady. Good seasons, but they probably won't repeat as the top fantasy players at their positions.

I'm kind of surprised this is being met with such animosity. Yes, the tone of the OP leaves a lot to be desired but is it seriously such a stretch to believe they'll be overvalued. Look at what they've done this year! Both will be top 6-7 picks next year at the latest (as they should be).

I don't think it's such a leap to envision a scenario where both Brady and Moss disappoint as a top 5 pick. Not saying he's right but at least entertain the idea that '07 was easily the absolute best case scenario for the Brady/Moss combo.

I think you meant to say that both will be the first picked at their respective positions next year. IN EVERY SINGLE DRAFT
