Brandon Jacobs hints that he will sign elsewhere next year (1 Viewer)

In a recent interview with Men's Fitness magazine, Brandon Jacobs made it clear that he does not envision himself with the Giants beyond this season.

Jacobs believes he and Ahmad Bradshaw have both been underutilized. "I just can't wait to get a true opportunity to get out there and show myself again," said Jacobs. "Next year, hopefully. This is a business and you have to look at it that way. ... It's going to have to be for another team, but it is what it is. It comes with the territory." Jacobs is due a $500,000 bonus in March in addition to a $4.4 million base salary in 2012. It's good bet that he'll get his wish at age 29.Source: Men's FitnessOct 27 - 1:08 PM

Good for Bradshaw, though I'd imagine Jacobs value stays about the same. He isn't going to get a feature job, but might fit in nicely in a place like Detroit.

I don't really see Jacobs taking on a dramatically bigger role somewhere else. He seems to have a pretty good gig where he is, with the role and touches (give or take) that he's been getting.

Jacobs has always been pretty full of himself and thinks he's a lot more special than he is. He will turn 30 next Summer. I don't think he has a clue what that means in the RB free agent market, and he will get a rude awakening when he learns what his perceived worth really is.

Most hated player in the league , someone needs to tell him he is not as good as he thinks he is

Is he really the most hated player? I haven't seen anything supporting that statement. Can you back that up? Just curious.Edit: actually, are you Charles Woodson?

Agree he should stay where he is, He can't hold up to a full season so anywhere he goes he will be splitting time still. Of course on fact is how much will he make somewhere else. I hope he does go somewhere. I have both Bradshaw and Jacobs on my dynasty team.

For a guy who did not care for Tiki Barber, he is doing a great Tiki Barber impression.

Remember his first year when everyone was in awe of his size and bowling over people. He went from "awe" to "meh" very quickly.

Cedric Benson seems to think he is way better than he is also.

The Bengals not drafting a rookie and bringing Ced back is his only shot at continued fantasy relevance.

Weird thread. Most hated player in the league? Where the heck did that come from?

Anyway, I understand his position but as noted, Jacobs is not nearly as great as he thinks. Even so, he is a solid back with some unique strengths. If he goes go a team with a good line and get get going, the guy can wear down a defense. But again, he doesn't seem to be a feature back at this point.

I also don't see this as anything close to the Meki debacle. The guy wants more touches and has vocalized it. Not the way team minded thing to so but we've seen far worse.

Most hated guys in the NFL says the guy with the TO in an Eagles uni avatar....

As a Giants homer, I have no problem letting him walk. They restructured him this year and he's been serviceable, but for 4.4 next year...no shot. RBs in this league are way to easy to replace when you have a good O-line. His mouth, his age and his contract demands are sealing his fate.

agree with thishe looks like he's running sand his legs move so slow. I don't think that is gonna get better with another year. Maybe he'll get a feature role in the AFL or UFL (assuming they are still around)

I'm also not sure why he's dragging Bradshaw into this. If he wants more touches, I get that but to say "they" are under utilized sounds like a shot at Eli...
