Brandon Jones Bandwagon pulling out of the station (1 Viewer)

Nice to see this thread after picking him up in at least 75% of the 20 antsports leagues I am in this morning. I am usually not to high on rookie WR's but this kid situation is now off the charts good. Lets hope he is a good as some think.D

Nothing makes me more wary of a guy than a FootballGuys bandwagon!

How many of these wagons will I fall for until I learn?

I'm thinking of grabbing him and had the same thought.Still, its hard to ignore the opportunity he has right now...

Lee evans, goodbye.  Hello B. Jones!
I've given serious consideration to the same. What was the determining factor in your making this decision?
A few:1. Tennessee's schedule is very favorable in the upcoming weeks, buffalo's is not.

2. Holcomb is locked on to Moulds, not Evans.

3. Jones was top 7 in the NFL in targets last week when Bennett got hurt.

4. Ten's defense is so weak they will be forced to air it out.

5. The grass is always greener on the other side. Jones is an unknown, and could break out. He could also do nothing, but if he does have a Mike Clayton circa 2004 (where did he go?) type season, I want him on my team.
:goodposting: Let's hope the choo-choo has a better run this go-round.

Only difference is *I* was never on those bandwagons. ;) (p.s. - and until Housh comes back, it is too early to say Chris Henry is a "busted wheel")

Nice thing about BJones' siutuation now combined with his poor stats the last few weeks is that he could have a good three games here to help you position yourself for the FF playoffs, and STILL end up with a "rookie-like" EOY stats.I just need him to help me weather my DJax/Engram problems - can't drop 'em, they're putting up 0s, neither is likely back until after the Seattle bye week.

I think more people might have wanted to enlist in the "Bob Ferguson" army. Hasn't he scored 3 TDs in the 4 weeks he's started? I think he's getting 10 ppg by FBG's count, which should put him in the Top 20-25 WRs during that span. I think his targets are low, and that can be a worry, but it also could mean he's got some room to improve his numbers if his targets go up. What am I missing?

I think he was referring to the bob ferguson revolution that Colin (nee Herd) rallied up last summer or two summers ago.Yeah - I am psyched to have Ferguson, though I only have him in leagues where my WR crew is fine - why I couldn't land him in my DJax/Engram league is the luck of the draw.

Sorry, missed that one. I disappeared from these boards in 2003-2004. I don't even remember my old login name, let alone my password. It's been good to be back, and I appreciate how much better FBG is as a whole (even if you guys love the 1972 Dolphins ;) ).

An interesting stat that I culled out Jones's reception this year is that of his 19 receptions 14 were for 1st downs and another was a TD. I'm not exactly sure what to make of the info or if it has any great importance but thought it was worthy of passing on.

We can officially call him worthless now.
I am not ready to "officially" call him worthless, but he is definitely behind Kinney, Troupe, and Bennett on the target numbers.I expected that, but I figured more than a few targets - and he is only getting a handful per game.
From a fantasy perspective, he's clearly worthless.
Oh how things change in the world of fantasy football in one week.

True that. Of course, I don't recall anyone in this thread predicting that Bennett was going to get hurt in Week 6 either. Props to you if you did. ;) I'm back on board the train this week because I do like him (I wouldn't have him on my roster if I didn't) but mainly because I don't have any other choice due to injuries to Horn and DJax and bye-week issues. I'd love for Jones to show us how good he really is given what a prime matchup he has against the Cardinals.

No Antrel Rolle, good news for the Tenn receivers.I like Brandon quite a bit, but this whole thing just seems too good to be true. It's the exact situation where some guy like Roby or even Calico ends up with the big day after the build up to Jones blowing up. And then Jones goes off in his next game after everyone's become disappointed in him. Ahhh the smell of fresh pessimism in the afternoon....I'll probably start him in at least one league.

good post. I'm juggling the classic case K Curtis or B Jones this week but going with the latter.

Sure didn't - just commenting on how quickly things change.Calling him "officially" worthless for fantasy was obviously a premature statement, though.

All me "prediction" eggs are in his basket this week (as is obvious from the other threads). Three BJones threads on P.1 - BJ love (LOL!)

:corrected:If its a WR with a big day, I don't see it as still injured Roby or still not back to form Calico - though you COULD be right that Calico is the one to get more deep looks whle BJones stays in his more traditional possession role.

Nah, you're not getting me - your correction is incorrect because that would make sense. It just seems like in situations like this where things appear clear something totally unexpected happens. Comprende?

yes - i understand you. It's just that with the Tenn. play calling, and the Calico/Roby situations, I don't see either WR getting enough looks - what I guess we MIGHT see is one or both of Calico/Roby getting a deep bomb and/or short TD looks. I concede that you might see Calico/Roby getting bigger yardage numbers or TDs due to that, but I don't forsee either of those WRs having a bigger day absent the big play.
