Brandon Moore, LB (1 Viewer)

Does Brandon Moore have any IDP value?

Will he be the replacement for Julian Peterson?
Moore will replace Julian Peterson on the outside. He impressed last year inside and outside. Even if your scoring system values sacks highly enough to make an OLB in the 3-4 worthwhile, he'll have to improve his pass rush skills a bunch to have anything more than marginal value.

I hadn't heard that they were shifting him... dang, I own him in two leagues - he was a nice play down the stretch last season when injuries hit my team.

Yep. Had high hopes for him too. I haven't seen it confirmed with 100% certainty yet but after these two notes following his signing and with Derek Smith and jeff Ulbrich healthy (for now) I think it's in pretty dark pencil on the 49er depth chart.

What role Moore will take in the upcoming season depends on whether free agent linebacker Julian Peterson signs elsewhere. Last year, Moore played defensive end on passing downs, something Peterson also did.

Moore is likely to move to outside linebacker next season even if Peterson does return, which appears unlikely.

Moore was a backup and special-teams standout in his first three NFL seasons, gradually earning a bigger role while playing for three head coaches in four years. He hopes to be a starting outside linebacker next season, and he plans to improve his pass-rushing abilities.

"There is so much room for improvement," Moore said. "I believe it, and (Singletary) believes it. It's just going to be a matter of how hard I work at it and how much I believe in it."

Cool, good info - I can start looking for some other guy to take a shot on and forget about Moore.

I think Moore is a guy you can get real late in the draft and have perform as a viable LB3/4 with definite upside.

Pimpin Moore

As a homer, I'd like to add Brandon Moore to this discussion.

3 starting LBs are quite possibly leaving as FA's (ACarter, DSmith, JPeterson), so Moore is going to be starting next year.

Mike Singletary, LB coach, loves the guy, and has talked about Moore being a big playmaker for next year's squad...especially as a pass rusher.

In the games he started, he averaged about 7pts/game (Zealot scoring), which would put him in the low 30's, right around Kawika Mitchell and Kirk Morrison.

Just my $.02

That's what I thought when I had him pegged for ILB. I'd rather take a chance on finding someone who breaks through as an ILB/MLB than keep a 3-4 OLB on my roster.

In a beauty in the eye of the beholder moment, the news is good for me. I have Moore in 16 team, start 3 or 4 LB league with 5 points per sack. If this is true Moore could be a borderline starter, or good bye week fill in.
