BREAKING: local man has sex with wife again (2 Viewers)

 The timing on this is funny.  She literally had her checkup last night.  Since she's reached puberty she obviously will stop growing soon.

The outliers stop growing completely or continue with a lot of growth, but for the majority of girls hitting puberty it's a couple more inches.  They said last night probably 5'4"

I too had my dreams crushed yesterday :)
Maybe I should start making other plans lol

So very very tired

man this #### is exhausting.
Not sure how much of it is exaggeration, but what's going on with him being up in the middle of the night for hours? Does he just wake up and is ready to play? Is he crying/screaming for you?

If it's the first, he may be napping too much during the day. If it's the second, you gotta start (or restart) sleep training. "Cry it out" is hard at first but it works and he'll adjust.

Is he rolling over while sleeping yet? That was a game changer for us and happened at about 6 months. Our daughter had an awful startle reflex so once she was able to roll over and sleep on her belly, she was way more solid and wasn't waking herself up at all.

Well I wrote that on and off over a period of 10 days. He’s back on a great sleep routine now. Slept from 8 last night to 7 am this morning. My wife is into reading all about this stuff and said he was going through some kind of “leap” which affected his sleep schedule.

So yea he would scream for us, and then when I would show up he would smile and giggle and be ready to play. I leave the room, he’s back at it, etc. I did think maybe he was getting too much sleep in the day, but she believes that sleep leads to sleep. Thankfully it’s worked itself out, until it doesn’t. ?

No rolling over yet in bed. Imagine it’s soon. He does it pretty well when we put him on the floor.

Nice work in the blog. I don't always agree with you on the boards (Boston fan here), but I love the perspective and the writing.

sleep regressions are a #####.

Good to hear that was just a rough patch. They come and go. What's a great kick in the #### is that they always end up going away right as the next whatever starts.

Which for you, at about 6 months, is that first itty bitty tooth starting to poke through. And ohhhhhhh buddy are you about to be in some ####. It's cool though, because at least the bright side of it is kids get all their teeth at once which is way better than basically coming one by one for a year.

Wait, what???

Yea we are starting to see the beginning of that. Should be fun!

He also has to take a giant dump right now and can’t. :lmao:  I’d feel bad if watching him wasn’t so funny.

Good luck Cappy.  Getting old is tougher to raise young ones.  I had twins, they didn't sleep through night until 13 months.  It sucked.

I was clicking a different post and saw that pic. I thought to myself, geez he’s got some dainty little hands and then read that your wife took him. Also, damn man, baby at 40. Your only a few years younger than me and I’ve got soon to be 17, soon to be 14 and 11 year old boys. If I was changing diapers and getting up at night with them now instead of 30-35, I’d just give up. So much deteriorates in your 40s, it’s ridiculous. Have fun getting worse and still not have him in school. At least you’re in on #amzn2k2018, that’ll make you feel better when your back is killing you. I don’t carry, bathe, wipe or change my kids at all and it’s awesome. Being able to ask them questions and get real answers. Sometimes funny, other times rude, nasty and snide, but I’m still bigger for a couple more years and can put the fear of god in them. Little worried about my 14 year old. He’s going to be bigger than me soon enough and probably hitting the weights for football.

Great pic of Lincoln at the game.  I liked your part about envisioning taking him to the parade.  That's probably how you would have remembered the event most.  My oldest was 3 weeks old when the Red Sox finally won and I remember sitting with her, burping her while watching the final out more than anything.
That’s awesome.

:lmao:  it suuuuuuuuucks. There are days my wife is working and I am not so I am on baby patrol and it is EXHAUSTING. It would be so less tiring just to go to work.

Fortunately she is 6.5 years younger than me. Because when he is 3 and running around the room for 10 hours straight I’m just going to go sit on the roof.

Don’t worry they start sleeping at 2...oh wait no they start getting their molars. 3 will be fine, nope night terrors. 4 you may be in the clear. But by then you will have another kid.

:ptts:

I am going you send you some good luck Cappy. I don't know how I got so lucky, but at 6 months mine has slept through every night with the exception of a couple storms that woked her up, and a couple of sicknesses where she pooped the bed or threw up in the bed.

Not to steal your thread, but I will always be convinced that my daughter had her 1st tooth for a week or more before we knew. No fever, never woke up in the night. One day she happen to grab my finger and put it in her mouth and bite me. Scared the crap out of me. I pulled my finger out with a little blood on my hand, so I figured this tooth just came  in last night. I look in her mouth and and check out the tooth, but no blood, no swollen gums, nothing weird, then I look back at my finger and it was still bleeding. She cut my hand.

I was 32 when we had ours.  I remember getting up to go to work after a few of the longer nights thinking, "So this is why people do this in their 20s."

At 40?  F that noise, man.

He’s been sleeping like a champ this past month. On Saturday night he slept 14 hours.

Yeah. Turning 42 and having a 7, 4 and 1 year old is mayhem and exhausting. And a few times I’ve pressed Mrs O on having a fourth. Probably for the best, I think she’s had enough. I might otherwise run myself into the ground.

Thanks for letting me know the road I'll be hoeing in a few years as a 40+ father-in-the-making. I'm tired just reading it.

I have a vague notion that I said this already but I'm a big fan of the blog. You're a great writer
Thank you. I really appreciate that.

Thanks to everybody who reads them. It’s really cool.

I have often said I don’t understand how people have 3. When do you sleep?

My niece has 3 and god bless them, I love them all, but it’s like a fire hose over there.

I can do one better. I'm 42 and have a 13 year old. No big deal.

Except I added a 5 and 2 year old to the mix. I should have known better. It's one thing to start late not knowing what you're getting yourself into. It's another thing to be done with all of it (diapers, bottles, etc.) and then start it over again at ~ age 40. Twice.
