Brendon Ayanbadejo (1 Viewer)

is this a case where he's a nickel LB'er or is he platooning with a gimpy Gooden(tryin to help fill the void of Bart Scott)? i noticed him in alot last week, but since the chargers were in passing mode couldn't tell the exact reason Brendon was in there so much. for whatever reason he was out there he looked pretty good and was fairly productive.

his high tackle total for a season is 40 and he now has 11 thru 2weeks of this season. Gooden/McClain/Ellerbe/johnson/barnes have combined for 13total stops. is this something worth monitoring in deep leagues?

Forgot to mention this in the every-down LB thread. He's rotating in for Gooden on nickel snaps mostly, although I think he replaced Gooden on a couple of snaps in Week 1 after Gooden's minor knee issue cropped up. After the nice reports on McClain and Ellerbe this offseason, it was a little surprising to see Ayanbedejo there, but it looks like it's a rotation that will stick.

with Ayanbadejo going on IR and Gooden's myriad of injuries and uninspiring play........... is Ellerbe a player to watch? he looked fairly competent sunday and he's got some praise from the coaches and Ray

Certainly worth watching, though I'm not sure he's going to be strong enough in coverage to play every down. Could be a reverse platoon than what it's been -- Ellerbee in the base and Gooden in the nickel. It'll be hard for either to have any consistency in any setup given how limited the tackle opportunity has been in Baltimore and will likely continue to be looking at the next few teams on the schedule. Either way, Lewis keeps the bulk of the value.
