Brett Anderson exited Thursday's game due to left elbow soreness (1 Viewer)

It's difficult to speculate until we learn more, but you really have to wonder what the team's options are at this point. The team just signed him to a four-year contract extension, so they have a lot riding on this 22-year-old's left arm. They have no reason to rush him back to the mound. Jun. 3 - 2:36 pm et

Dr. James Andrews meet Brett Anderson. Tommy John?

An A's source told Mychael Urban that it "looks like" Brett Anderson is "done" as a result of his elbow injury.

Anderson was scheduled to be examined today after leaving Thursday's start against the Red Sox. It was his second start back from the DL after a "forearm strain" sidelined him for a month. If he's done for the year, the A's will probably go hunting for pitching. Vin Mazzaro could replace him in the rotation for now.

"looks like" I'll just wait and see.

I'm curious to see who the A's would go after... and who they would be willing to trade. Would they dare make a push for Oswalt? What would it take for that deal to happen? I'm assuming Chris Carter would have to be involved - total speculation

Oswalt has veto power over any trade, and I don't think there's much chance he'd accept a trade to Oakland unless no other teams have made offers. He wants to go to a strong contending team if possible.
