6/12: Manager Charlie Manuel wants to keep Brett Myers in the bullpen when he returns from the DL, but he did state that it was a "possibility" that the right-hander could be moved back to the rotation in light of Freddy Garcia's injury, according to the AP. It's possible Myers could return to action within the next week or so, although no return date has been formally set.

The Phillies will not consider reinserting Brett Myers into the rotation. He was the No. 1 starter entering the season, moved to the bullpen April 18, and has been on the disabled list since May 24 with a shoulder strain.

I think the answer is, they don't have a long-term plan for the rest of the season. Can Kendrick give them a few starts until they can deal Rowand?

I think this goes either way. If Gordon comes back healthy, and Garcia is shelved for a while, maybe Myers goes back in the rotation this season.

My personal guess is that he stays as the closer, although Alfonseca has performed well.

I don't expect much from Kendrick.

Looking over the stats from AAA and AA, there isn't much there... The most logical solution would be to put Myers back in the starting rotation... If they don't, their bullpen is really going to get a lot of work IMO...

In an interview with Arbuckle on the radio last night, he said that there is no plan on putting Myers back in the rotation and that they think that he can be an elite closer. The other thing he said that I disagreed with, was that Myers had his chances as a starter and never dominated the way that they had expected him too.
