Brian Simmons released by the Bengals (1 Viewer)

What does this do for the LB'ers? Is Thurman returning? Brooks, Miller starting?
:banned: Who knows? The only way this move makes sense in March is if the Bengals feel they've got a shot at a name free agent. Landon Johnson and Caleb Miller were both given the lowest tender possible, which may also be a way to squeeze the most possible money out of the 07 cap to target a FA. None of those moves are going to get them in the ballpark for Adalius Thomas or London Fletcher though. And, although LB depth is an issue, you'd think the Bengals would make a move at DT and CB before LB in the draft. My feeling is that the Bengals really want Daniel Graham and think they can get him. The 2.8 million from Simmons and savings from not re-signing Reggie Kelly and/or Tony Stewart could be enough to bring him on board.

Thurman can't apply for re-instatement until July 11. There are no guarantees the NFL or the Bengals will take him back. You'd think that would leave the depth chart as Johnson/Miller v Brooks/Jeanty for now, with Pollack as an extreme longshot.

I just read that Daniel Graham signed with Denver :whoosh: Huge money. Scheffler owner. Now I read this(Rotoworld) Daniel Graham has not agreed to a contract with the Broncos, despite an ESPN Radio report to the contrary. He is in Denver Friday.

Impact: The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is the first to report this, so it's possible his agent has been in contact with the Vikings to let them know Graham isn't off market. Graham's agent also informed the Boston Globe that Graham hasn't signed.

So maybe they will make a run at him yet. But it still leaves their defense in a mess!
