Brian Tyms-Any Info (1 Viewer)

Picked him up in 2 leagues. I think he's the reason they felt comfortable dropping Thompkins despite a lack of quality WR depth. 6'-3" slender at 206 lbs.

Former walk on at FLA A&M who worked his way into a scholarship. Good but not great measureables. Nothing really noteworthy on his college career - had a good ypc.

3rd year UDFA who has bounced around with a few teams before ending up at NE. Was suspended earlier this year for adderall (allegedly). He's nothing but a throw-####-against-the-wall lottery ticket, but there's opportunity so he's sitting on the end of my bench.

You could do worse as far as deep sleepers. Lafell is overall average, Dobson can't put it together, Gronk is a mid to short range target right now and he looked great on the deep ball he caught this weekend. If his snaps pick up I wont hesitate to grab him if I have room.

WR Brian Tyms earned "rave reviews" from Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels earlier this week.

Tyms only played eight snaps against the Bills last week, but made his mark with a 43-yard touchdown. Those that watched the preseason closely weren't surprised, as Tyms ripped off a 11-188-2 line while grading out as PFF's No. 1 wideout. It appears he'll be active again Thursday night, possibly at the expense of Aaron Dobson. Tyms needs to be rostered in all Dynasty formats and should at least be on re-draft watch lists.

Any possible future reprecussions from his earlier suspension? He's claiming it was from Adderall but just didn't inform the league that he's had a prescription since his childhood days.

Anyone have more info on him other than he is a tall wr on the pats that had a good preseason?

He was undrafted in 2012 was on 3 different practice squads on teams that really needed wr production during that time. How is it now he is about to pull it all together?

Players get better with coaching and experience?

love these types of lotto tickets.

seems to have some opportunity for a role, and flashed in his first game.

Had to make room for him, NYJ secondary is garbage and if he blows up tonight you won't get him cheap.

 Worth a shot if you have the space

He looked really good in pre season with Grapalo and seems to have a nack for going up and making tuff catches. It is a real good sign that in his first game activated he and Brady connected just like he had previously with Grapalo.

I think he's a legit threat to put up 700 yds 6-7td rest of the way. I think Brady is dead set on proving people wrong and that he still has it and can throw the deep ball. I could see him getting 4-5 targets per game with alot of big play ability.

Picked up him and lafell, if they stink, drop em and grab someone else before Sunday. Maybe even grab white as spec. add

Grabbed him up in a dyno after his play in the preseason. He seems like a smart route runner with good field stretching ability. 11 for 173 and two TDs.

He played mixed with the ones and twos. He stood out enough to overthrow Thompkins for a roster spot. I like him a lot more than Dobson at this point.

Starting as my WR4 in a deep roster dyno this week over Kerley and Nicks.

Good article on Tyms

I think that is a beyond aggressive projections. I think he's only running the deep part of the route tree right now and will not be even close to a focal point of the offense. It's Gronk > Edelman > LaFell > Vereen > then Tyms and Dobson will be battling out #5 targets.

You can put him in on a bye week and hope for a 2/70/1 stat line but that's likely as good as it will get.

Now that Shorts is back I'm thinking of dropping Hurns for Tyms. Am I crazy?
I think Hurns has already taken a backseat role to Allen Robinson, so add Shorts to the mix and his outlook is even worse. I'd take a chance on Tyms.

Love the story but if I had a nickel for every time I heard a guy was the first guy there and the last guy to leave I would be rich.

So true. For a league that only has 32 teams, seems like we hear about 150 "first guy in and last guy out of the building" stories every year.

Considering that you are a Patriots fan, you might want to learn to spell your future QB's name.

Back to the scrapheap, glad i didn't start him haha
10 hours. Wow.

Here's the info:

He's a NE player. None of which can be trusted on a weekly basis. Trade him away if possible. If not, you'll be dropping him for the next "great NE WR".

Yep, I got burned by Belicheck...again. I picked Tyms up and proceeded to put him in my lineup against a juicy matchup. Serves me right. I've been chasing the points all year and it's led me to a 1-6 record.

Would be so happy if I could trade away all my NE players so they can be someone elses headaches. Would not surprise me in the least if Tyms is deactivated next week and Aaron Dobson is activated. :wall:

You didn't get "burned by Belichick," you picked up a player who was on the field for 8 snaps last week and put him in your starting lineup based on one play.

No. It's Belicheck and his assinine, over the top, overanalyzing mind games as it has been all season...

Tyms and Wright are the "two hardest working guys in the game"...yet don't sniff the field. Ya got me Billy boy.
