...in my draft today, and the guy before me takes Brandon Belt (not on the 40-man, so not eligible to be auction drafted).

Next best choices were Jordan Lyles and Bryce Harper. Before you ask why didn't I go Freddie Freeman, Domonic Brown, etc. - this is a pretty deep league - NL only, 40-man rosters. I felt that Lyles was not the right pick there and that I could get a stud SP prospect in Rd 2 (Casey Kelly, SD).

So, I took Harper - $15 salary, I get him for two years + the option year or extend. If he never sees the MLB roster before Sept, that is fine with me - I can rotate him down to my 16th round selection next year. This guy had better walk on water - preferably the Potomac, and soon.
