Bucs cut Pettigout (1 Viewer)

Unfortunately, things like this often make me think good job by the previous team.

I was initially concerned with a G moving to T but the Giants have been just fine without him.

One day the Tampa Bay Bucs release offensive tackle Luke Petitgout; the next the NFL notifies Petitgout that he will be suspended the first four games of the 2008 season. The league hasn't said why, but you have to wonder if that didn't factor into Petitgout's release. Yeah, I know Petitgout tore his ACL last year and didn't pass the team's physical. But you can't tell me the Bucs didn't know this was in the works. Not sure what happened here, but am sure you won't be seeing Petitgout for the first four games of the year ... anywhere. Petitgout is eligible to sign with another club and participate in preseason practices and preseason games, but once the 53-man roster is set, his suspension takes place.

I remember that Reece was getting creamed by the media at the time for making such a crappy, rookie GM move as cutting Petitgout.

Guilty as charged, when the Giants were pursuing Kevin Schaffer to be their LT (yea, I know) I thought Eli would be in the infirmary by mid October. Could not have been more wrong.

It's a rough business. Either get better, or lose your job. Unfortunately, many of these guys choose to do whatever it takes including roids.Donald Penn did a great job last year, and I look for him to build on that success in 2008.
