Buffalo at Chicago (1 Viewer)

Impressive win. Manuel looked, dare I say it, like an average QB today. That throw to Mike Williams in OT was huge.

And Fred with the "get off me" stiff arm at the end....damn.

I still don't believe it. Somebody pinch me. An opening day win on the road against a pretty decent team.

Get Bradham back next week. Hopefully Gilmore back.

Freaking Bills are roping me back in. I hate them.
Its a good win, but I'm not sure the Bears are decent.

Just as we thought not a very good team at all and there is the typical Bears loss - Cutler picks, blown chances and the defense that cannot stop the run. The new look Bears are just the same old Bears. They hire an OC for a head coach after replacing the head coach that was a DC. They just don't get it. Cutler? He is too much of a cowboy. Maybe the Broncos knew it all along but the Bears have their franchise QB and they are now 0-1. Congrats Bills. Way to play.

bears are right on par with buffalo

which is why it's pretty hilarious to watch bears fans dismiss buffalo before the game

Yes!!!!!!! Efff uuuu reffsss
You guys ##### more about the refs than anyone on here. They saved your ### on the last drive.
Some people both on this forum and off seem to think that the NFL conspires against the Bills every week.I didn't really think the refs were that bad today. I don't think they really negatively impacted the game too much. Calls go both ways....
I think there is ample historical evidence that it is God that conspires against the Bills.

Just woke up from a nap (had insomnia last night). I caught the first half. Was impressed. Fell asleep. Woke up for a second to see that it was 20-20 at the end of regulation and quickly went back to sleep knowing, this is the Bills. I know how this will turn out.

Wait. THEY @#$ING WON?!

It's funny because it's true.

You are right abut this, and I am a Bears fan who figured that this was a no brainer. We are not as good as I thought, and Buffalo is not as bad as I thought.

Week 1, if you were expecting to peak at the start of the season, well then let me just point you to the Denver Broncos last year. If Jeffrey is out for an extended time, I would be concerned. But as I thought heading into the season, we can't stop the run, and our secondary play is atrocious.

Edit: Our defense can't tackle either...

I agree. I suppose I had a bit more hope for the defense and I expected the offense to be more explosive than it was today. All hope is certainly not lost, but my expectations are lower than they were a few hours ago.

You mean when they picked up the flag for offensive holding despite the replay showing a clear hold? It never even should have been to that last pass play. That was total garbage.
This was much more as a general statement, than it was with calls going against the Bills... The Bills got a couple calls too... but there were some reaaallly bad calls, period.

No one is going to say this game was officiated well. At least not the people who actually watched it.

yes, the officiating was terrible

the reverse on the marshall catch/fumble/incomplete which came back a catch, no fumble and 1st down for chi?? Dallas game had the same sort of play where the WR lost the ball when he landed on the ground and it was incomplete.

the flag that was picked up on the obvious holding the replay showed when Chi was driving to possibly win and only managed a FG. Never should have been OT

Bills had 90+ yards on penalties while Chi had 30+. Some pretty questionable pass interference type calls too.

But it is the same as usual for the NFL. The replacement refs did much better jobs in most games. Some of the ref teams are better than others I feel and the top teams usually play in the top matchups. The lesser matchups get the lesser teams I think (don't know for certain how they do it) so that could play into terrible games called a lot by teams which aren't as good like the Bills.
