NEW ENGLAND BYE WEEK HISTORY: We all know the recent history with the Patriots drawing Buffalo after the benefit of a bye week and this season is no different for New England. This is the fourth straight season in which New England has Buffalo as their first opponent after their bye week.

**** Jauron said it best last week concerning the Patriots bye.

"He [Coach Belichick] doesn’t need two weeks, does he?"

But Buffalo has faced New England only one other time after the Patriots bye and that was in 2000 when Doug Flutie pulled out a win in overtime 16-13.

Here's the rundown of New England opponents and the results coming off their bye.

2000 1st gm vs. Buffalo L 16-13 OT

2001 played at Carolina W 38-6

2002 played Denver L 24-16

2003 played Dallas W 12-0

2004 1st gm vs. Buffalo W 31-17

2005 1st gm vs. Buffalo W 21-16

2006 2nd gm @ Buffalo W 28-6

2007 2nd gm @ Buffalo ????

It's just a scheduling fluke. It sucks, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. It could be worse. It was just a few years ago that the Bills played 4 opponents in a row that were coming off of byes. At least it's a home game. It would suck even more if it was an away game for the Bills.

They would've beat the snot out of them anyway. I am glad Buffalo has something to play for. To be honest, it's been boring watching the Pats crush everyone (exception: Indy).
