Bush vs Maroney (1 Viewer)

I would like everyone's thoughts. In a 12 team dynasty league(15 keepers with no limit on number of years kept), I picked first and picked Bush. I have entered preliminary trade talks with the owner who picked Maroney.

From an NFL perspective, Bush is superior IMO. However, from a fantasy perspective, how do you see Maroney vs Bush in the next few years? It is yardage/TD league, with no ppr. My concern is that New Orleans offense is a mess with a very poor OL. NE has a winning organization and I think Maroney will be very good in this offense, once he becomes the starter.

If I am able to get a 1st round pick from a team that should pick in the top 5 next year in addition to switching Maroney/Bush, should I pull the trigger?

Any input is appreciated.

Bush. No question in my mind. Even if you're not comfortable with him on your team, his value is alot higher than Maroney's, so you can just trade him (i wouldn't)

This is a dynasty league, talent over situation. Not too long ago Indy, NE, and Seattle were pathetic messes with no OL and SF and Buffalo were winning organizations.Situations change drastically over the life of a dynasty.

1. Bush

The question is, who's # 2 ?

Maroney and DWill are the prime contenders. My gut tells me DWill right now, although all 3 of these backs look fantastic.

I appreciate the thoughts.

Since I am a New Orleans fan, I was concerned that I was looking at Bush through rose-colored glasses. Thanks for the perspective.

I dont see it as that cut and dry...sure bush has extrodinary talent....but LT does as well...and people ...are drafting LJ in front of Him... even in a dynasty you have to include situation into the equation

I feel Bush is at whole other level. Maroney is a good RB and after this year will most likely have a solid career. The up side for Bush is stellar. Bush could post several Marshall Faulk type seasons.

I'm picking first in a ten team keeper league.Rb's currently on my roster are Droughns and McGahee..Obviously, I have a huge need to draft a RB, and it's going to be either Bush or Maroney..

I have been watching Maroney closely, and frankly, it looks to me like he's already the starting RB in N.E., its just a matter of time before the team makes it official..its reminds me of the Portis situation in Denver a few years ago, when Portis didn't 'officially' start until week 5..beside the fact that Dillon got hurt( again) saturday night, Dillon is too old and too slow and too broken down to be an every down back in this league..he's finished in my mind...call it a career..that being said , I consider Maroney a much better play this year, than Bush..Long term who knows..I do know that Deuece McAllister has looked very good in preseason, and as a result, Bush figures to be embroiled in a huge RBBC, with he and Deuce splitting carries 50/50 this year, at least thats how I see it..

RB's definitely do hit the wall at a certain time, it happens to nearly everyone...and I think its happened to Dillon. Perhaps the biggest reason I'm seriously considering taking Maroney over Bush, is that Maroney plays for a coaching staff that doesn't use a RBBC, one of the few remaining teams that don't use it, in fact..

Bush will split with the still young Deuce Mac not only this year, but for the next few seasons , IMO..

and, to take the bloom off the rose a bit here, other than a 44-yd run vs. perhaps the worst rush defense in the history of the NFL , Tenn. Titans, Bush has looked absolutely ordinary this preseason..including last nights fumble..Maroney has done nothing but impress every time he carries the ball...I'm beginning to think that people are slightly overrating Bush, not because he doesn't have all-world talent, but because everyone seems to forget that Deuece is still there, is young, and was VERY good before his injuries, and looks good yet again..

I'll take Maroney and his chance at 250+ carries..he simply has no competion in front of him, and plays in a NON-rbbc offense..an offense that usually doesn't switch rb's at the goalline..

it might be a big mistake to pass on Bush, but I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger...

just my two cents on both rbs..

Be sure to try to trade down before just passing on Bush.

I recently traded Edge and the ten pick for the first pick in our 10 tm keeper.

We keep one more player each year until we get to dynasty. I drafted Reggie and am extremely happy. Trading edge also enabled me to keep FWP. :)

Maroney's skill set is very, very good.

He will be better then Bush. Way more power and sick in the open field.
