Buy Low Candidates (1 Viewer)

Time to start seriously targeting some players. Wise players will not sell low, but there will be some guppies willing to part with MJD for Lamont Jordan.

So, who are you targeting? These have to be guys that you are confident will bounce back from a bad start (I think SJax/Evans here)

Who are you looking to move now? These folks just can't carry on too much further (Shaun McDonald/Jordan)

Please reply in terms of:

Target: SJax, Evans

Move along: Lamont, Shaun McDonald

Don't target LJ till week 5. Johnson's next three games are vs. Minnesota (great run defense), at San Diego (great run defense) and vs. Jacksonville (prety good run defense).

Now might be a good time to throw a huge offer to the SJax owner. He just may make a move?

In 2 weeks the same could be said about LJ but that offense will still be bad.

Lee Evans is a nice guy to target but he is always inconsistent.

Chargers players in general could be good targets as they have played maybe the 2 toughest defenses in the NFL.

Sell all your Browns after the outburst!

Plax.

I own him, and wish he was not on this list, but I think he belongs on it. He has 4 TD in the first 2 games, making him marketable, but I think he is too fragile to be relied upon. He might be at his peak value at this moment (assuming he is not on the injury report with the ankle).

I welcome any disagreement with this. Say it aint so!

Why not Lamont Jordan? This guy didn't just fall out of the sky. He had a good year in 05, was hurt last season and now he's back. The reason he's playing well (150 yards in each game) is because he's pretty good. If you want to go and trade this year's studs for last years be my guest.

He got banged up at the end of this weeks game didn't he?

Yes, but I believe he returned to the game. Did nothing after the injury though. If he is hurt, any thoughts of selling high are probably out the window. If he is healthy, I think the move may be to trade him before is actually is hurt unfortunately.

I think the targets are pretty clear:

Sjax, LJ, Maroney, Bush, MJD for RB

Evans, Fitz, Colston, Reggie Brown

however, only a few of these are sure-fire slow starters. IMO, LJ and Sjax, and Evans, Fitz, and Colston. It all depends on who you want to give up. I am going to try shopping Jamal for LJ in a couple of weeks, hoping Jamal puts together solid performances in the next two weeks. Jordan I think can continue at this level: new coach, new attitude, better QB situation than last year, and they did just almost beat Denver, if it wasn't for Shanny's dirty tricks. I think Oakland may actually be in for a decent season, and if they are, then LJ could have a good year. He did get 150 yards against Denver.

I assume that by "LJ" you mean Lamont Jordan in this case. I think the initials "LJ" have already been claimed by another LJ on these forums, and that LJ is unlikely to ever be traded for Jamal Lewis by any sane person.

This is a guppie statement if I ever heard one. I wouldn't even think about trading Jordan for MJD. First, there is a 50% turnover in top 10 RB's every year, and I will personally guarantee that MJD is one of the RB's that drops out (if it isn't obviouls already). Second, when Jordan is healthy & being utilized correctly, he is a top 10 fantasy RB. Last year's stats don't count this year.

I'm considering shopping Benson around a little bit, coming off his 100 yard game. I'm going to watch some more of the game highlights first but I think I wanna lose this guy. Was expecting a bit more yesterday. (call me crazy)

so who would you trade Benson for, just curious ?

It's tough to think in terms of 1 for 1 trades, considering I rarely wind up doing those. But if I had to choose which RB or WR I'd be comfortable getting for Benson, it would probably look something like this.

RB - Jones Drew (most owners still wouldn't trade him for Benson but who knows?), Barber III (same as Jones Drew but I'd try to play up the time share), Thomas Jones.

WR - Javon Walker, TJ Housh, Driver, Roy Williams

Is that unreasonable? Obviously, the owners of those WR would have to be needing a running back and have WR depth to make such a trade but it could happen. Benson coming off a 100 yard game provides such an opportunity.

Lamont Jordan has proven he can produce, he's been around the block, he didn't catch anyone off guard....and, if you watched him run against the Broncos yesterday he was dynamite. The Raiders O-Line deserves some credit too. The Raiders had NO passing game yesterday.....75 yards and a TD off a blown coverage. The Broncs had 8 or 9 in the box All Day .... I don't see Rhodes taking his job or getting many reps .... Jordan is to be held onto at this point and time, unless there's some offer for him that you can't refuse.

In one of my leagues, someone "sold high" on Plax for ... you'll never believe this... Patrick Crayton.

First, read the title of the thread, second, read the post detailing his sched, third, never assume anything, especially if your hero is a roided out freak. LJ=Larry Johnson. People will do stupid stuff.
