Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, reports there is a possibility Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams (knee) will not play next season because he is facing a lengthy rehabilitation.

This is pure speculation, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit. RBs need their knees to be 100% more than any position with their cuts and mobility. Carson Palmer and Daunte and McNabb can accelerate their timetables (add Rivers now) because they don't need to move much at all if their O-line blocks well. RBs don't get that luxury - ever.

The best indication will come from Michael Pittman - that's your first clue. If he stays in Tampa, they feel that they need RB depth.

Second clue will be Graham's contract. If pretty big extension, uh oh time for Caddy.

Third - and this is probably a given - Draft Day. How high will they take a RB? They most certainly take one.

Can't find the link on my work system, but I have been looking at Caddy's contract length and price tag increasing over the next 2 years of the deal. Include the performance of E. Graham and I can see a situation where Tampa outright cuts Caddy. Not sure how this works with NFL contracts. Meaning if there are any legal implications of cutting him while he is injured. Any experts out there know if Tampa would then have to honor the remaing amount on Caddy's contract?

sorry if this is off topic.

Great news!

First, his career was over.

Now, he'll miss 2008.

Next, he'll be ready to start the season.

hate to see a young guy hurt like this, but as a Graham owner, it makes it easier to deal with..

I can't imagine Tampa cutting Caddy. It sounds like Gruden at least still thinks he'll be ready.

I would be shocked if they took a RB on the 1st day of the draft, they have at least a half dozen other needs, especially at WR.
