Calling ESPN Leaguers- BIL asks for a hand... (1 Viewer)

My BIL is no football fan, so it must be the gambler in him that got him hooked up in an ESPN office league. He sent me an email asking me to take a look, maybe help him out. Then he said I could take over if I wanted to. That's sorta lame, so I'm going to see if I can convince him to run the team with me so he can join in the smack with his co-workers. Suffice to say, he could use the social life. He's in Memphis, and I'm up in NY.

So, I'm exploring his league on ESPN and for the life of me I can't find the interfaces for trades, waivers, etc... Is there any to be found? He also has his team set to auto-draft and I would consider getting up early to do this just for kicks, but I can't figure out how to change that to manual.



...How long does an ESPN 18 round draft take, anyhow?

Is it set so we can take a look at it? His league page will have links for adding players and trades, but it will not be set up that way before you draft a team.

Are you sure it is not an autodraft for the whole league? Look at the middle of the league page where it says Draft Info. Under that is Type Draft I have a draft Saturadya nd don't see any option to set it to Autodraft this far in advance.

The timer is 90 seconds, so it should take under two hours.

yeah - you can't draft live. and i had a hrll of a time trying to get it save my pre-rankings. if you look at your team page, you'll see links on the right side. When you get up tomorrow and the team is drafted, there wil be additional links in that area for transactions. Which is the team?

I definitely want to set my rankings. What's up with that?Looks like we'll be drafting in the #2 spot. I'm an auction draft guy, so this should be a chuckle. If nobody was to tweek their pre-rankings, would the auto-draft simply draft as they are listed on the "Pre-Rank Players" page? We're the "Hell_Raisers KICK_ASS_ON_ONE" ...

yes. and you'llchucklle when you see them. plus, i don't think they've been updated for a couple of weeks.a ranking tip - do not bunch players by position. you can start that way, but then integrate them. ESPN has no problem giving you four tight ends if those are the highest available on your list.

no. your rankings just affect who is drated for your team. you'll have a definite advantage if all don't pre-rank

if you don't pre-rank, curtis martin could be your rb3, as an example.

Trying to get the pre-picks to resemble something reasonable was a real bear...and after several attempts and site misfunctions I surrendered.



I think it I managed to make adjustments in the rankings somewhere into the low 100's before I gave up. Here's what we got just as the auto-draft gave it to us. Not too shabby.

Anyway- I still don't see the trade/waiver interface, if there is one. On MFL you can solicit trades via their software. I've never been in an unlimited F/A league, and I don't see how moves are requested.

Took a very quick look - heading out for the day -- but looks like you did pretty well and the teams are not so balanced..

The waiver links should be right around where it says Waiver Position and Transaction Log on the right side of your team page. I'm not seeing imaybe just because I'm not logged into your league.

...The playoffs start on week 14. The top 2 seeds will have a bye week. The #3 seed will probably play #6 seed and the #4 seed will play the #5 seed. Week 15 the winners of week 14 will have to play #1 and #2 seeds. Week 16 will be played to see who is playing in our Superbowl on week 17 and also who will be playing for 3rd place. ESPN will take over and I will have no control of changing the lineups for the playoffs. This is my best guess since my ther league does it this way.

Anyone care to decipher that for me, and fill me in on just who meets who come week 16? Edited to add league playoff schedule as indicated on the site:

Sounds right to me. With Playoff Rounds listed as 3 it has to be a week 16 championship game.
