Calvin Johnson (1 Viewer)

Hoping for a good game, i.e., week 5 vs. St.L. in order to make him more appealing for a trade, unless the Detroit O is able to turn things around :football:

I think what we see is the maturation of Shaun Hill. Just throw the athletic freak the ball and he will get it. Unfortunately Stafford will be back in down the line and he will be starting from the same point as Hill did.

I don't know how anybody could ever sit this guy. Insanity
2 TDs brings out the clairvoyants.
seriously, there are way too many posts like this by people who were completely absent from the discussion beforehand.
I was in the ACF this weekend telling anyone w/ Calvin to play him and anyone w/ Javid to bench him.... so I'm on record, homie.

ETA: In fact, here's the post where I say I'd start him every week (unless injured):

I'm still glad I didn't draft him.

I might be more inclined to play him next week if I owned him, but it'll probably be back to crap next week.

I just watched my old vhs tape I have of Barry Sanders. I haven't watched it in awhile and it reminded me of just how great he was and how much he created on his own. The Lions are not feeding their Stud. He is most definately a stud, but I believe they don't give Calvin enough opportunities for big plays. I'd grade them very poorly in that department. When Barry got stuffed, did Fontes stop feeding Barry the ball? Of course not, because you knew eventually Barry would break one.Same thing here, I'd throw the ball up to Johnson all day long. He is a total mismatch for DBs and the Lions don't do squat with him.Wayne Fontes was laughed at in his day but he knew who his stud was and fed him. The Lions do not feed Calvin enough. If he looks covered deep, he isn't, throw it up to him. If Cpepper didn't throw it up to Moss everytime he looked covered he wouldn't have scored on many of those long Td catches that defenders just couldn't stop. He's on my bench AGAIN this week, as I have had this feeling all year long. No catches in the 1st half of week 1 and 1 catch for 7 yards in the first half of week 2. What a freaken joke. Trade him if you're afraid to use him.
Benched him in 2 of 3 leagues, but I am glad that I saw the Lions finally use this guy. For those guys that thought he wasn't a STUD or wasn't as good as hyped, that is not the case. He just wasn't getting used the right way.....as the primary weapon. We saw Detroit stick with him against a very good defense and Megatron came out on top. Keep it rolling Megatron!

looks like i picked the wrong week to start Santana Moss over him - lots of football left to play in Philly though!

I made the same move, Moss hasn't been open all game and Washington has the lead, I don't expect Moss to do much now. Good to see Megatron do well and it looks for me unless Cutler gets 50 plus points against the Giants, I will win in that one anyway. (not that anyone cares)
