Camera angle during football games (1 Viewer)

In the spirit of starting topics from others... Why can't we have the ability to watch an NFL or college football game from the "Madden Football" angle? It is so much easier to see the plays, formations, etc. from the behind the QB camera angle similar to the view of video games. Don't they have a camera on a wire set up for most televised NFL games? Let me watch the entire game from this camera! Anyone else with me on this?

I'd like to see that angle. We can't see the WRs running routes (and defenders in their coverage) ...we can't see holes opening/closing in the line of scrimmage. Back in the day, I enjoyed watching college football games from the student section in the end zone because you'd get this view. It was really neat on kickoffs and punts, too.

This past year, the Blackhawks' broadcasts would occasionally have a camera shot from up and behind the goalie. Similar idea, and an interesting angle there as well.

Actually... Yea. They have all the cameras in the stadium. Why they're not hooked up to a network and live blasted is beyond me. People could pick and choose the cameras they want to watch and the NFL could gather data on what angles people like the best.

Sounds like crappy seats. At WVU, we were in the upper deck right on the 50 yard line. That was great seats.

Interesting idea. maybe the future is some sort of interactive camera feed where the at-home tv viewer can choose what angle they view from

Second level in the corners of stadiums/arenas give you a good view of the developing play.

I know NBC and ESPN have offered similar views in soccer matches - they call it the tactical cam, but its an alternative view from behind one of the goals that shows the entire field - mostly a stationary camera, but will zoom in occasionally when the play is at the opposite end.

These options are typically available to people who are streaming the games, but I imagine with greater channel bandwidth like Directv it could simply be an additional channel.

Don't they already do this sometimes for big games? I want to say last year in the Super Bowl or NC game you could flip between channels for different camera views.
