Cameron to name RB starter on Monday... (1 Viewer)

Certainly, Brown is the favorite to be the workhorse this year. But I don't really understand the dismissive tone regarding Chatman. I would reckon to guess that Marshall Faulk and Priest Holmes are the two greatest fantasy players of the vast majority of this board's lifetime. Faulk was traded for a 2nd-round pick right before a 1st-round pick was spent to replace him. Other than a few shining moments, Holmes was nothing but a scrub in Baltimore. Stuff happens.Maybe Chatman really has the stuff. Maybe Brown sucks. Or maybe the truth lies somewhere in between. I'm just not sure how one could have a very strong opinion without being close to the situation.
Faulk is not a good example. He had over 2200 yards combined and 10 tds before he got traded. Him asking for a trade forced them to take only a 2nd rounder.

Brown is the best player on the Fins offense by about 40 miles. The fact that Cam thinks he needs to do this to motivate HIM, instead of the other 10 dispicable guys lining up on the offensive side of the ball for this team is nuts.
I don't really understand this logic. Even if he is the most talented, if he's setting a bad example, not working hard, etc. that shouldn't mean that he's above reproach and that the coach can't take him to task. Cam just came from a team where his most talented player was also the hardest worker now he comes to a team where his best offensive player is a slacker so I'm sure it's a bit of an adjustment.

(KFFL) Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown will not play in the team's preseason finale, according to head coach Cam Cameron. What do you make of the above statement? I drafted RB in the 2nd in a start up dynasty draft this year.
Also according to KFFL, Chatman isn't playing as well.

I get the spririt of what you are trying to say, but:Faulk was a Top 5 pick was a good, but slightly disappointing starter because of his draft position. He was a clear starting RB at the time he was traded and as I remember many people thought the colts were crazy.

Preist Homes had over 2000 rushing yards and 80 catches in his four years at Baltimore. while many were not sure about him as a starter, he was legitimate NFL RB,. His resume showed that he was at deserving the opportunity.

Chatman has less than 500 yards and 10 catches between 2002-05. He was not on a single regular season NFL roster in 2006. The chances that after 5 NFL season, that chatman woke and just all of a sudden got it are slim. I suspect that good ol Cam better be darn sure if he names a career nobody (no offense to the Chatman family) over a guy that the Dolphins have 20 million guaranteed and 2nd overall invested. Also, chatman has had a single long run in the pre-season, outside of that he is averaging less than 3 yards a carry.

The fact that Chatman is being considered for the starting role says more about Ronnie Brown's lackluster performance/drive than Chatman somehow suddenly figuring it all out.

That point is accuarate. In terms of pure talent, there is zero question who is better. That said, I have watched the replays of two of the Dolphins pre-season games and while Brown looks very average, the offense overall leaves much to be desired. At the end of the day, I would rather bet on Brown becoming motivated than Chatman being even servicable.
