If portis would have started every game so far this year. His stats would overwhelm everyone else. There would be no doubt. That being said, he did, but still think that with that offense, if he isn't this year then he will be next year.

It doesn't hurt his chances that SA, LJ and to some degree LT are all performing under what most people projected them to be doing, so I'd say that yes, he could end up #1. Given the way that their respective teams are going, I'd like a guy like Tiki Barber's chances a more though.
I agree with you, although he's averaging 20 carries in his three starts. OTOH, the main complaint about him in the last two seasons was the relatively few number of TD's that he got, and he's now on pace to match the last two year's totals all in one season (he has 6 in 6 games).

If Portis had started every game, his stats would not overwhelm everyone else.He has started 4 games. He is averaging 83 yards rushing, and roughly a TD a game. He is also averaging 2 catched for about 40 tards.Very good stats indeed. However, those numbers would put him below LT, LJ, Westbrook in points per game, and slightly ahead of Jackson, Gore and Jones. However, the two games where he did not start...Dallas and Minesota....those two teams are 1st and 3rd respectively, against the run. So, to think he would put up numbers that were averaged against the likes of Houston, NY, and Tennessee may be a little disingenuous on my part.More likely he would have struggled a bit against those two teams a bit, and that would bring his average game down a bit.So, no, Portis would not be overwhelming everyone else...he would be in the second tier of fantasy backs with LJ, Jax, Tiki, Jones, Gore, etc...behind the mightly LT2
