Can someone plug in last year numbers to see where players should have (1 Viewer)

Liquid Tension

Not sure why it got cut, but it should say "should have been drafted"

We have so many discussions about where should Manning be picked and then there is a thread about Gates being picked in the 3rd round. Why wouldn't footballguys do this? You could modify the DD based on your individual rules and then see whether a guy should have been picked at certain spots. Then we could decide whether we thought a player would be better of worse and draft accordingly. Of course the player could put up the same numbers and we would see the player should have been drafted earlier or later because the results are not in a vacuum for subsequent years, but for the most part certain numbers give a range of drafting by position.

BTW, Manning should absolutely be picked in the 1st round and I am shocked some very smart people still think otherwise.

C'mon guys help us out!

You can do this without the DD. You just throw last year's stats into a spreadsheet, calculate every player's FP given your league's scoring rules, determine your baselines given how many starters you have at each position, and then calculate the X value for each player. Then, rank all the players by their X value and you have your list.

I know my topic isn't one I expect a lot of long responses from, but wouldn't this be a great topic if this were done by the footballguys? If it was done, you would just plug in leagues scoring and be done with it.Doesn't the DD have some rankings based on positional strength or the variance above the "average" built in?
