Can you negotiate with Comcast? (1 Viewer)

new modem arrived yesterday. simple install but had to call Comcast and give them the mac and sn#. it was up & running within 20 minutes.

getting about 35mbps faster download:  140/12 of wifi

pretty good deal - ill be returning the rental modem soon

Weird, my wife negotiates with Comcast like a champ and I thought we got a pretty good deal.  I pay $215 (before taxes and fees $235 after) for:

Xfininity bundle service with 1 main box and 3 slaves

Fastest internet

All pay channels

Compared to my cell phone bill for 4 lines, I actually consider Comcast a solid entertainment value given how much I enjoy tv/movies.

When the bill goes up, the wife calls (a couple times if necessary) until she gets it dropped down to this level.  If they ever refuse and want me to pay $275+, I'll switch to Verizon.

The thing is I really like Xfinity.  It's easy to navigate, reliable as hell and has some cool bells and whistles.  I will dump if I could save $50/month or so though.  I need to get the wife off the idea of a home phone...

I love it too.  And we admittedly watch a ton of TV.  I've thought about the whole cable cutting etc.   My only other option in my area is DTV.

And I've reached the point where if I really want to save money I'll dump all the pay channels except one etc.  I pay for my conveinence now

Not the least bit surprised. Comcast are crooks and liars. Left long ago. Always tried lying and charging me more after the price was already agreed upon. Thieves

Last week Comcast finally released their long awaited Roku channel.  Now you can get rid of that cable box rental and just use your Roku, right?  Nope, comcast is going to charge an extra fee to use their Roku channel.   :lmao:

Ok, I'm not using Comcast anywhere near as much as I used to so I want to downsize without getting rid of it completely.  I currently pay $250/mo for the triple play, blast, all the movie channels, and 3 DVRs.

Anybody have triple play and like HBO only?  If so, what do you pay?

Called and had to negotiate a new contract a couple of weeks ago. One of the offers the frontline sales guy had (before you get sent to customer retention) was triple play + blast + HBO for $140, I think. That was only one DVR and no other movie channels. You can do better with the customer retention folks.

I think I'm at $215 for similar package but that's with all channels.  I think it was $10 less for just HBO

Never really gave Direct tv a though.  Maybe I should check it out.
I had Comcast for years. Not sure why I didn't think of Direct either. Got screwed so many times by Comcast. You have to spend 15 minutes once a year negotiating with them but it's worth it to me.  The picture is so much better. Internet isn't quite as fast, though. It's worth a look into.
