One of these weeks I'm gonna get stiffed unless I pick the right week to pull this guy out or they announce a ruling Sunday/Monday before lineups lock.

Anyone got anything on the pending suspension?

I've got Embree, but Capps is better if he's playing all week.

Pirates closer Matt Capps will miss the three games in Seattle because his suspension for hitting Milwaukee's Prince Fielder with a pitch May 5 begins tomorrow.

Major League Baseball today announced its decision on the appeal Capps filed on what originally was a four-game suspension. The suspension was reduced to three games. Also, the original $1,500 fine assessed Capps was pared to $1,000.

It's likely any save situations the Pirates have in Seattle will be handled primarily by right-hander Shawn Chacon, with left-hander Damaso Marte ready if needed.
