CBS sportsline fantasy site, setting up divisions (1 Viewer)

This is a 14 year, big $$$ 10 teamer and I had an idea that I'm sure someone else has already tried.

Every year we have two 5 team divisions and we set them up by drawing #s out of a hat. Well last year it finally went bad as the best 4 teams ended up in the same division. My team was 10-3 and I didn't even earn a bye and of course, had my off week in week 14, GAME OVER!

Don't want to see it happen again so I came up with this idea that works flawlessly in a 10 teamer.

The first 9 weeks, everybody plays each other one time, THEN the 2 divisions are seeded evenly, leaving 4 additional weeks to play the 4 new division rivals and crown division winners, ect.

My question is, can this be done on CBS's fantasy site?

If not, are there other ways to fix this?

All you have to do is manually adjust your schedule weeks 10-13. You can set the divisions whenever you want during the season - or just track the divisions offline using the Commish message or news articles. Sportsline is expensive, but my leagues have been using them for years since we can tweak things like this for all our wierd quirks.

5 teams per divisionplay everyone twice in division ( 8 games), and play the remaining 5 teams once, each..totals 13 games.start playoffs in week 14.

top two teams from each division enter the playoffs..if u want byes, then allow 6 teams in playoffs, top 2 division winning teams earn first round byes.thats how I work my 10-team league on CBS..

I think you may have missed the point as we already do this(6 teams in playoffs). Again, the problem is that the 4 best teams ended up in the same division by pure luck. That 4th best team was left out of the postseason, while the 7 best team overall (with a losing record) went on. My 10-3 team received no bye while a 7-6 team in the other division did.It won't happen like this every year, but I want to fix it now before it happens again.

Would you have brought this up if you were the 7th best team that made it to the playoffs. If it really bugs you switch from a HTH league to a points league.

You can just set your schedule for every week including the playoffs. In other words, YOU put in who makes the playoffs. We do it just like this every year. You might want to make a rule in your league that says it's the top 6 records or top 6 point totals.

I reread your question. I do not believe you can set up divisions after the season has begun, but of course, you can set your playoff matchups.

here's what you do ....

after the draft, you set up the divisions by alternatly placing teams in each division. So one division will have #1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and the other divison will have #2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

this way, every year both divisions will be equally difficult .. theoretically ofcourse,

Thanks, I guess that's the real question. Can you reset divisions between weeks 9 and 10? Or is it possible to have no divisions until week 10?
