Happy not to hear the "We had a game to win" BS. Props to TJ for being a true friend. And then they lost.
If I were playing at that level I'd think I would want my teammates to concentrate on winning if I went down.

You are a complete TOOL.JuniorNB said:I hate to sound cynical, but I was watching the game when it happened and I noticed a few things. First off, it didn't look like a bad hit. Secondly, Chad put his hands on teh field and started pushing himself up, but then grabbed his helmet and started wiggling around a little. It was after that that he began to just lay there motionless. If it were anyone else but Chad Johnson, this wouldn't even cross my mind, but I can't help but to think that he may have been a bit over-dramatic after the hit. For starters, he hasn't had a touchdown in five weeks. Secondly, he took his third hard hit of the game and they were getting their butt's kicked. I think he may have kind of given-up after that hit and as he laid there, began liking the attention that the doctors and players were giving him.I could be 100% wrong, but that is exactly what I was thinking while I was watching it. The fact that his tests all turned out normal, does nothing to make me change my mind.I bet he doesn't miss a game.
Please point out the smack or belittling that I did here. TIA.Can you take your sorry smack to the FFA I really dont appreciate you belittling the bengals like you always do in a time like this. Housh was targeted 5 plays after Johnson was removed from the field. Was hoping to see an update on Chad but about half-way through it got into the usual low-class postings. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. One thing that I didn't get was did Housh get in the ambulance right then (I could swear I could see is name as an intended receiver in a later play) or did he get in the ambulance with Chad AFTER the game? Either way, it shows how close they are. I hope Chad's back when he can play and doesn't rush it if things aren't 100%.-QG
Thanks, that's what I thought. They probably mean he went in the ambulance from the stadium to the hospital. I thought they said they did a CT-scan of him on site.-QGHoush was targeted 5 plays after Johnson was removed from the field. Was hoping to see an update on Chad but about half-way through it got into the usual low-class postings. As another Steeler fan, I too hope CJ turns out to be fine and back on the field right away. While I enjoy seeing the Steelers kick the Bengals butts as much as the next Steeler fan, it's a game, and I don't wish an injury on CJ or anyone else.Steeler fan here. Here's to hoping CJ is healthy and on the field again quickly. His shtick is a little stale, but the guy is a helluva football player.
Cool. Then it makes the alleged game abandonment issue moot. I would be suprised, knowing what I know about Housh, if was to split in the middle of a game. Also, just for NorrisB, here's even more smack and belittling:I hope CJ's all healthy and ready to go next week. Thanks, that's what I thought. i think this can hurt housh more than anything...bump to henry, donwgrade to housh, now that they can key more on his skill set
I don't think he's tanking it. I think he really got hurt. But don't you think guys like Moss and CJ have a right to be angry when their teams suck?Imagine going to work every day for a company whose employees are a bunch of idiots who don't stay on task and don't get anything done. You work hard. You stay on task and do a great job. Nevertheless, your company continually loses money because your co-workers are utterly inept. I don't know about you, but I'd probably get tired of it pretty quickly. It's easy for football fans to criticize guys like Moss and CJ when they pout about their teammates, but that's probably because most football fans haven't bothered to consider what it must be like being a star player on a team full of clowns. Football isn't like basketball where one dominant player can single-handedly carry a team. In football a guy is counting on 21 other starters and a handful of special teams players to help his team win. If you're Chad Johnson and your teammates are consistently letting you down then maybe you have a right to be angry. Maybe you have a right to pack it in and demand a trade.Does this remind anyone of the Moss situation in Oakland? Team is doing terrible, Moss' stats suffer dramatically. This Bengals team is in disarray to say the least. All the off-season problems they had, coming off a disappointing season, the team is doing absolutely terrible. It seems like superstars like Moss & 85 don't do as well when their surrounding teams are suffering. I don't know if it's the attention they receive individually or what, but it seems like it's a possibility. With the rumors surfacing of 85 being traded this off-season, I wonder what this will do to the Bengals if it's really true. I'd like to see him stay and them hire someone to keep that team in line.
I don't blame him at all. Just wondered if anybody else thought it was a similar situation for him.I don't think he's tanking it. Chad ended up costing the Bungles the game yesterday. There was a pivotal 3rd down in the 3rd quarter and Palmer threw him a rope that he could have easily taken to the house and he drops it; ouch. The Bengals would have had all the momentum at that point and would have probably won the game. He should worry more about football then doing his endless stream of advertisments
Your fantasy perspective is completely wrong. How can you say that the 8th best fantasy reciever in points is nada? He is the 2nd most yards I'm the entire NFL right now for WR's. I am utterly confused. People just make statements before they check there facts. Hope to see you on the field next week Ocho CINCO.LMFI hope Chad's ok cause he creates drama in a fun way and is a really good NFL receiver. I really like the guy. From a fantasy perspective he's definately been "Ocho Nada" this year (as per Doug and Doug on Comedy.com).
I love to hear fans blame Chad each week for losing the game. He makes a convenient scapegoat because of his antics but the fact is:IT'S HARD FOR HIM TO DO ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE WHEN HIS QB ONLY THROWS HIM THE BALL 6 TIMES!Thats right, only 6 targets. So don't go blaming the lose on one play. You obviously don't know anything about TEAM SPORTS.smapdi said:Chad ended up costing the Bungles the game yesterday. There was a pivotal 3rd down in the 3rd quarter and Palmer threw him a rope that he could have easily taken to the house and he drops it; ouch. Their lose couldn't have anything to do with the fact that their D couldn't stop a girl scout troop from scoring a td.Before you make assumptions about what "would have" or "could have" happened if he caught the ball, take into account their defense stinks and one play doesn't win or lose a game.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says Chad Johnson has a sprained neck, but could play in Week 10 against the Ravens.Johnson made the team charter home and was at the Bengals' facility on Monday, both positive signs. Still, Lewis isn't always straightforward with the media, and fantasy owners should be prepared for any scenario. Johnson did not talk to reporters Monday. His status will be updated by Wednesday. Nov. 5 - 4:12 pm et
I can't think of one serious neck injury that didn't look bad when I watched the replay. Until yesterday. The people that think Chad was faking this injury are completely ridiculous. A ploy to get onto SportsCenter because he hasn't caught a TD lately?? Say what you want about his antics and frustrations, but this guy has respect for the game and the other players that play it. Players have the same mutual respect for Chad. To think that he would compromise any of that by faking a neck injury and getting carted off the field for more air time is seriously off base.
ESPN Story. Sounds like a serious situation to me.
"The hit didn't look that bad" is a completely bogus argument. In the past guys have had season ending injuries that "didn't look that bad". Hopefully Chad recovers quickly and is alright to continue.

If by his stats suffering dramaticaly you mean having more receptions, yards, and TDs than he had at this time last year than you are spot on. Or perhaps you mean his starts are down from 2005? There are done quite a bit he has 29 less yards this year than he did in 2005, and 2 less TDs, and he did that with 6 more receptions. Or perhaps you were refering to 2004?? He has 155 more yards and 1 more TD so far this year.It sounds to me like his stats are pretty much on par with every other year.Does this remind anyone of the Moss situation in Oakland? It's not because of his overall stats....Chad is a prime example of boom or bust. I owned him last year and I passed on him this year because of that exact reason. IMHO so far this year he's been Ocho Nada more than Ocho Cinco but so have a lot of Top 10 ADP WR's.FWIW he's #14 im my distance league in PPG. Out of the thirteen ahead of him one is injured (AJ) but the rest have produced stats the last few weeks. #14 would make him a WR2 in 12 team leagues which is far below the Top 5 expectations that most had for him. Not to mention TJ is clearly the better fantasy choice so far this season...Nada is just a fun word to use and shouldn't be taken literally. Again I stole that from Doug and Doug's Week 9 fantasy bit. Obviously he's very valuable. I would love to have him as my WR2 if it makes you sleep better at night. Considering his 4 and 5 point performances the last couple weeks I think Ocho Nada is a fun way of putting it.Your fantasy perspective is completely wrong. How can you say that the 8th best fantasy reciever in points is nada? He is the 2nd most yards I'm the entire NFL right now for WR's. I am utterly confused. How many FF points for riding in an ambulance? I really should check my league's scoring rules.Fellow receiver and good friend T.J. Houshmandzadeh jumped into the ambulance to be with Johnson.![]()

C'mon...you serious? I guess Johnson owners (myself included) have been hating TJ getting better numbers this year....makes it seem like Johnson's stats are off. I just checked my league site on RT. Last year chad averaged 8.25 fantasy points per game...so far this year, he's averaging 8.25 pts per game.If by his stats suffering dramaticaly you mean having more receptions, yards, and TDs than he had at this time last year than you are spot on. As a Johnson owner, I haven't minded at all that TJ has gotten better numbers than Johnson, but that's probably only because I'm also a TJ owner and have been starting both every week. What I do mind is when any of the other Bengal receivers start being targeted. When Johnson was hurt and TJ rode to the hospital with him in the ambulance, that was as much of a double whammy for my team as it was for Cincy on the field. Not exactly the sort of thing that anyone could ever have predicted, but those are just the breaks.C'mon...you serious? veryAnybody else think Palmer is a bit overrated? Jeez he lays out CJ and TJ more than anybody Ive ever seen.
