Chad Johnson (1 Viewer)

He's looking like a buy low candidate of sorts, but there's also a part of me that thinks he's going to start sulking soon and go in the tank as the Bengals are nearly out of it for the season.

Then again, his home run potential remains tantalizing as always.

Curious what people think about him the rest of the way.

As long as the line can't block long enough for him to go deep not much. He hasn't scored a touchdown in over a month. All things considered he's still a top-10 wide receiver and hasn't had fewer than 50 yards in a game this season so he's always going to give you something. If you can buy low go ahead.

How much more (or less) do you value Plaxico Burress than Chad Johnson?

Will settle into a 6-10 wr, not a top 5 guy anymore.

2nd option in that passing game and just too inconsistent to be picked as a top 5 guy at the position.

Seeing as how Plaxico Burress has come back to earth the past two weeks (sub-70 yards and 0tds is more like falling on his face) it's much closer than before. I'd rather have CJ though. I trust him more. Burress doesn't practice due to a badly sprained ankle. At some point you have to wonder if that will eventually limit him (maybe that's already the case) or cause him to miss time. Plus it seemed as if he was playing over his head. He's not that good and neither is Eli Manning. For all of Chad Johnson's and his teams problems he's still a top-10 wide receiver averaging over 100 yards a game. And that's with the Bengals offense playing terrible. The line will play better, the running games should become more consistent and CJ will benefit. In the end for me it comes down to who do I trust more between Burress and Johnson not to mention Carson Palmer and Eli Manning and since CJ and Palmer are clearly ahead I value Johnson much more highly than I do Plaxico.

Don't be so quick to value CJ over Plax. It seems CJ can go games at a time without getting goaline looks and Plax has been a TD machine this year. Housh, in my opinion is the difference between the two.

There is no doubt who is the #1 WR in Cinci. CJ may not even be the #2 when Henry comes back.

Johnson will have 1 or 2 more absolute monster games to put him in the top 5.
This is what I think. And then alot of the past month.Sulking or not, if you can get to your playoffs with this guy, I think it's worth hanging onto him or buying him.

Is this fantasy wise? I don't think the top corners are put on Housh..As to the rest of the way, Housh and CJ could reverse trend very easily ... don't pay for stats you didn't get.

One of the best playoff matchups known to man. Don't kid yourself. CJ opens it up for Housh and Henry - not the other way around. Deep threats are always a bit more inconsistent. He had his chances this week. Bomb bounced off his facemask, another off his shoulder pads. He did make a great catch to keep a drive alive as well - so it isn't all doom and gloom. Let him face CLE STL etc in the playoffs and see what happens.

 Just thought I'd say that.

612 yards and 5 TD's....anyone else you wanna know about?
inconsistent though, 2 TDs and 250 yards in one game. he's played in 7 games so far. that's only 360 yards and 3 TDs in 6 games, not too good.

Don't really need to argue Chad's body of work in Cincy. He is the yardage king, without a doubt. He is also not the best red zone threat down close. TJ and CH fit the bill better as shorter route runners. Chad doesn't get the fade like tall receivers (Plax/Moss, etc.). So, he may not have the most TD's. Still, I would bet that this year, like the rest, he will end up with a higher total # of fantasy points than the other two.

Week 14 vs. STL

Week 15 @ SF

Week 16 vs. CLE

Dis him all you want. I want the man on my team come playoff time. Note - I also put in a FA bid for Chris Henry this week as well. Chance I may trade for Carson Palmer tool. (TJ owner has manlove - can't get him).

This is a risky play, as you are betting that the Bengals don't implode before they get to the playoffs. They play Miami week 17, so with they have a very realistic shot at winning there final 4 games. Question is - will they be mathematically eliminated before the final 4 games? Very important that they win at least 2 of the next 4 game. @ Buff, @ Balt, vs. AZ, vs. TN. If they do, then I think they'll be alive, realize they have a great closing schedule and will battle. If they lose 3 of these next 4..........then.........buyer beware.

Chad has always been sononimous for getting yards but not many TDs. If you look past 2-3 yrs he has led all WRs in yds. This yrs trend pretty much has continued, he gets you 80-90 a game bt Housh comes away with the dirt. Mind you, if yor WR is consistantly putting up 80-90 with a chance to score each week, he is still worth a good pick. The presence of Chris Henry down the stretch and getting Rudi back I woud think, will take a tad of pressure off Chad.

I expect he has 1 more ridiculous game in him, 200+2tds, something of that nature.

Hes always reminded me of TO... if he doesn't get his way; he explodes. I thought for sure he would be in the top 3 WRs this yr...

If you expect Johnson to end up the year with similar numbers as TJ then wouldnt you want Chad down the stretch?

As to the Housh/CJ thing, I dont think you need to look any further than the # of targets they get week after week. Its pretty much always in favor of Housh
