Chester Taylor (1 Viewer)

Nov 13 Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings FB Tony Richardson (forearm, thumb) fractured his right forearm in Week 10 to go along with his fractured thumb. "We thought it was a contusion, but he had an X-ray after the game," head coach Brad Childress said. "We'll just have to see what his comfort level is like. No need to operate on it right now, he's in a splint. We'll just have to see how that goes this week." (KFFL)

Does this concern anybody else other than me?

1. Chester Taylor has been running well this season.

2. Taylor is going over his season high for carries and we'll have to see how he holds up.

3. Taylor commented on being one big bruise during the week and had a calf injury leading up to this week.

4. Mewelde Moore was anticipated to start taking more third down carries to lighten Taylor's load.

5. Taylor held to 75 yds rushing and 20 yds receiving in week 10.

6. Week 11 vs MIA is considered a difficult rushing matchup.

I find it amazing that Richardson hasn't been ruled out yet for week 11 and that MIN may play him with a cast or splint. You can heal up in the off season kid, now shake it off, it's only a broken arm you P&$%y!

Is anybody else feeling like their RB2 may end up being an RB3?

I'm starting to think I might ride Travis Henry the rest of the way instead at RB2. The Vikings just simply don't score enough TDs. I can't believe a Titan would be a better prospect, but that's the case at least right now.

CTaylor is my #3 currently.

What he needs is for Brad Johnson to step it up a little and take some of the heat off of him.

It seemed to me that the Vikings spent alot of time against the Pack trying to convert 3rd and long situations, keeping Taylor off of the field.

Richardson's injury does scare me quite a bit, but the play of the Minny WR's scares me more.

well, he did have the one at the one that McMullen grabbed. He would have had 120 and a TD. :hey:
good point, I forgot about that and just now while watching NFL Total Access it looked to me like Taylor broke the plane of the goal before he fumbled and since it was recovered for a TD by McMullen, instant replay was never going to come into play. Maybe I'm overeacting here and wouldn't even have noticed a blip if Taylor had scored, but I was expecting more from Taylor and now will have to readjust my expectations unless the passing game becomes a factor to help balance things out and open up some running room.

I think he also had a 75 yard TD run taken away 2 weeks ago because of a holding call.
It was a 65yard TD reception, but who's counting1-10-MIN35 (:50) B.Johnson pass to C.Taylor for 65 yards, TOUCHDOWN NULLIFIED by Penalty. PENALTY on MIN-T.Taylor, Illegal Block Above the Waist, 10 yards, enforced at MIN 46. Taylor credited with 11 yard reception after TD is negated by penalty.

EDIT TO ADD-

Now the NFL Says that it was a blown call and the TD should have been good

As bad as Brad Johnson and the WR's have been I'm amazed Chester has done as well as he has. Tough to run with 8 and 9 guys in the box.

That's gay. I lost in two leagues because of that blown call.

I think he broke the plane too--there was just no reason to challenge the play given the outcome. The long TD reception against the 49ers was negated by a pretty ticky-tac call as well. Chester's last two weeks look a lot better if those two plays go differently, but things like this happen with a lot of players over the course of the season. I'm concerned, but a lot of leagues are past the trade deadline and there's not anyone better on the WW right now. I think you just hope the Viking's passing game makes some progress, since this will help Chester more than anything else.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings, already struggling on offense, have likely lost fullback Tony Richardson for the rest of the season.

Richardson played with a broken thumb in Sunday's game against Green Bay and then fractured his forearm. The latest injury will probably keep Richardson out for six weeks, and there are only seven games left. There's a strong chance Richardson will be placed on injured reserve this week, coach Brad Childress said Wednesday.

A valuable, popular veteran who signed with Minnesota as a free agent this year after playing 11 seasons with Kansas City, Richardson has been an important part of the game plans because of his ability to block, catch the ball out of the backfield and even run in certain short-yardage situations.

Reserve tight end Jeff Dugan will see some time in his place, and tight end Jim Kleinsasser is also a possibility. The Vikings were scanning the waiver wire for potential replacements, too.
