Chicago Cubs 2008 Bandwagon (1 Viewer)

 Hopefully the Cubs bring in that carpenter named Alex Rodriguez for some much needed repairs.
Stato, how did that huge weight loss quest of your's go?
Actually went really well. Started off with a modified Atkins for a while to take off some quick pounds, but I give most of the credit to exercise. Getting on the treadmill everyday and doing some cardio at night took off way more than the diet I think.Edit: I'm still not out of the woods, but I think I'm going to be in good shape for my March Madness Vegas/Spring Training Arizona trip.

The Eamus Catuli Y2K clock will strike midnight
Says the "bandwagon" fan.I'd say the Cubs are a whole hell of a lot closer to a WS than the Sux are this year.
Close or not, as expected, they will again fall short and complete the Century Of Futility®
Thats all you got?...........I know you can bring it harder than that(POWER MONSTER)At least things are looking up on the North side............On the South side, not so much.

Prediction: Sux suck again this year, and they give Ozzie another raise........sound familiar?

A lifelong Cubs fan, and wishin for the best in 08.

Not sure how big an impact ####udome will be, but we didn't really improve our team too much this offseason. My expectations are limited.

Young and improving Brewer team will learn from last year and win the division. Cub fans will never learn that they are not meant to win.

On that note, I'm glad Cordero's out of town. That guy is sick. Of course, it sucks he's still in the division. At least we all know Dusty will not figure out how to use him so no worries about Cincinnati.

relax doogie, nobody was picking on your little brewers. you are good, but you guys also gotta pitch and play D. should be a fun year in the central... cheers :ptts:

And there goes Prior... 1 year / 1 Mil to the Padres.

That seals the deal. He will be the comeback player of the year.

Had the opportunity to check out the Cubs/Brewers on Tuesday.

We hear it often, but Wood REALLY is throwing the ball hard. I'm really hoping he can stay healthy. I'd guess he was throwing in the mid 90's (which looked even harder throwing after Sean Gallagher. Speaking of Gallagher, if we can include him as a piece to get Roberts, please do so ...and soon)

####adome (sp) looked real good. Belted one out of the yard and had another single to right if I remember correctly.

Dempster started and well, was typical erratic Dempster. I don't know what they'll do with the guy....middle , reliever?

We only stayed through the 7th inning, but the highlights in my mind were definitely the way Wood was throwing and seeing ####adome (sp?) for the 1st time and seeing him do quite well.

I really don't follow the Brewers, but boy Weeks doesn't get cheated on his swings. I can't think of any ML'rs that swing with as much authority.
