Chicago Guys - Have you been to Alinea (destination dining) (1 Viewer)

Been thinking about a weekend trip to Chicago in early summer with the wife. 

Alinea looks interesting - yeah, ridiculously priced, could be labeled as pretentious ...but looks like it would be memorable.  

Have any of you guys been there?  What do think?

Yes.  Go.  Unquestionably.

If you can get into Next instead, do that.  I haven't been there but it's the newer (albeit several years old now), hipper (see prior parenthetical), more interesting restaurant from the same chef.  But if not, Alinea.  Yes.  Go.  Unquestionably.

I just went and checked out the menu at Next.  If you go to cuisine, then view the gallery for "Hollywood"  there is a picture of a dish served on top of Han Solo's blaster.  Cool.
