Chicago signs Lloyd (1 Viewer)

With that O Line, QB and WR's I sure hope the Bears dont draft Mendenhall or Stewart. They dont have a chance in that offense lol

I cant see Booker or Lloyd starting for this team. They are actually a downgrade for what they already have.

GREAT SIGNING!!!! :moneybag:

Who is going to stop the Bears backfield and wide outs now?

Grossman, Benson, Booker, Lloyd?

Stand back and watch the score board roll!!

This is NO DOUBT the second coming of the Greatest Show on Turf.....but on grass.

Oh wait, everything I said above think the exact opposite.

I love the Bears but they continue to make me sad

As a Redskins fan, I'll go out on a limb and predict that Brandon Lloyd will blow up and finally fulfill his potential this year, now that he is no longer with my team. What a waste of a roster spot he was.

I really really hate Ron Turner. I guess the line of thinking is that he can't do anything with talent, so why waste the money...

NFL records...Prepare to be shattered

Looks like the Bears are helping the Packers look like the best team in the division despite the loss of Favre.. :wall:

Potential??The guy has always been an undersized WR with subpar speed. What has the guy honestly accomplished in the NFL??

only one of the best catches ever
I stand corrected.
Probably not the one hes thinking of, but also works: http://video.aol.com/video-detail/brandon-...atch/1838615395

no it wasn't, but that was a sweet catch... The one I was thinking of comes at the 2:18 mark in this videohttp://video.aol.com/video-detail/bradon-lloyd/2908446162

Funny that in SF he had a decent QB in Garcia. In Wash he had nothing. This guy's got some talent. I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to at least a decent QB in fantasy. No stud but #3 potential I'd say. I'm buying. :toilet: :)

Is there someone coming out next year that the Bears are angling for? They seem to be working very hard to improve their draft position.

As a follow up, they have cleared quite a bit of cap space (anyone have the actual number?) - by launching two old O-lineman and dropping Moose to sign the lesser expensive Booker, and most of the deals they've signed have been short-term deals, it does seem like they are saving money for something *hope*...but what??

They need all that money to re-sign Tommie Harris and Hester in the near future. With the Mad money being tossed at DTs this offseason, It might be too much to bring back Tommie.

I was really hoping that the Bears sign Bryant Johnson. Is it at all possible that they still will (I doubt it)? If they do, this signing isn't bad if its a one year deal and cheap. Turner coached him in college and knows him and his potential. I wouldn't mind seeing Johnson, Lloyd, Booker, Hass and Hester as the Bears recivers. Not the best WR group ion the league but it would be decent enough to concentrate on other positions during the draft (OL, QB and RB) and then take a flier at WR in later the rounds. IF, only IF....

Umnm...what?First of all, that is a pretty bad receiving corps, but Hass?!? Am I wrong or did he not even see the field once last year? I don't think he ever even dressed. Maybe once at the end of the season.

The guy made two or three good catches in pre-season and for some reason everyone in Chicago thought he was the second coming of Tom Waddle. I remember it all over sports talk radio last year: "Where's Mark Bradley? Play Mike Hass." The reason they didn't get a lot of playing time and didn't perfom when they did see the field is because they just aren't any good. Bradley showed flashes of potential a few years ago, but he just looked lost last year every time he was out there last year. Hester at least had an excuse to be lost.

Hass is just SLOW. He'll be lucky to make any NFL roster next year. He's a practice squad player at best.

:goodposting: Brandon Lloyd? The only positive thing I could think of when I saw the news was that at least it was only for 1 year. Can the Bears just have opponents punt to them for three plays in a row and if Hester doesn't score the Bears punt it back?

:D Moral of the story: Hester is the late-round steal of fantasy drafts this season, especially if you get bonus points for long TDs.
This is what I am thinking also, some good fourth quarter garbage TD's for Hester. He could end up 7 or 8 td's and you can take him with your last pick

:banned: Lloyd has some potential. Unfortunatley he is aligned between the ears much like another Illini alumni ... Jeff George. I suppose if anyone can get him to grow up, drop the tude and dedicate himself to football, its Ron Turner. If this can be done, and I beleive this is a big IF ... he could be a decent #2 WO.

I'm not crazy about the Lloyd move, but I'll bet you cumulative numbers from Lloyd and Booker are better numbers than Javon Walker posts.

It's all about value with the McCaskeys. If there's a lockout in 2010, guess what - they have NO income. The Bears aren't some side interest of their's - it is their only source of income.

I believe Loyd signed for the league minimum. I am an Illini fan and a Bears fan and I am still not sold on the move especially without a major upgrade or two on the O-line.
